     Carl M. Freeman Companies Announce Free Community Concert Series
        Sounds of Summer coming to Olney Town Center & Olney Village Center

(June 22, 2007) Olney, MD– Carl M. Freeman Companies, proud owners of Olney Village
Center and Olney Town Center announced plans to hold their second annual free community
concert series, Sounds of Summer. The four-night concert series will be held Thursday evenings,
August 2, 9, 16 & 23 at 7:30 pm. on the lawn between the two shopping centers in Olney, MD.

“Carl M. Freeman Companies are committed to being a partner with the community. The concert
series was a very popular event last year and we heard from residents hoping we would offer it
again this year. We want to continue to provide events that make Olney a wonderful place to live
and offer an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening of entertainment with their family and
friends” said Michael T. Reilly, Vice President of the Carl M. Freeman Companies. “We hope
the community will once again come out, picnic and enjoy the festivities”.

The concert series will feature a band each evening, raffle drawings, giveaways and special
offers from several of the shopping center merchants. The public is invited to bring their blankets
and lawn chairs for the events. The concert series performance schedule includes:

August 2nd, will feature the local talent of The Olney Big Band. The 20 piece ensemble is well-
known for their big band sound, playing hits of/from 1930s -1950s including the music of Glenn
Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington and the like.

August 9th, Mike & the E.C.B. of Washington, D.C., a nationally performing group with local
ties, will perform several swing numbers and classics such as “Twist & Shout”, “Johnny Be
Good and “Play that Funky Music”.

August 16th, Project Natale, a lively jazz group that will perform popular favorites such as; “The
Very Thought of You” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” as well as some of their own
original compositions.

August 23rd, will highlight the high energy sounds of The Crawdaddies. A Baltimore based band
that has made a name for themselves playing a unique repertoire of Louisiana's Cajun, soul,
reggae, rock, and blues to create a very unique sound that is all its own. In addition to the lively

sounds of the band, the finale evening of the concert series will include a Community Circle
where several nonprofit groups from Montgomery County will be on hand to share information
on the services they provide.
