Join Us for Breakfast Tomorrow in Irvington
Join fellow dealers in your area, NJBMDA officers and Board members for a free
breakfast and share your thoughts on opportunities, threats and how your association may
better serve you. Two meetings are planned at 8 am - May 19 at MRS in Irvington and
June 4 at MidState Lumber in Branchburg.
The major topic will be credit/collection. In light of the unprecedented conditions of the
current housing, credit, and global financial markets, the need for credit information and
collection resources has never been more obvious – or urgent. Leading our discussions
will be Kate Berlin, Pro-Files Plus, a well-known expert in NJ construction credit.
Join us as we discuss credit and collection alternatives that are currently being presented
by suppliers, to their customers, in the construction industry. This discussion will not
only provide you with insight from other suppliers, but will encourage you to take the
necessary precautions needed to sustain your business and make effective collection
decisions during these very trying times.
Registration is required. Call Noel Liccardi at (800) 269-9603 or email email@example.com
NJBMDA Overhauls Website
To better communicate with members, the NJBMDA has overhauled the association
website and packed it with more information. The new website went live last week. Go to
www.njbmda.org to check out the new website and provide us with feedback.
Rail Tunnel Gets $200 Million
Federal officials have announced that President Obama's proposed Fiscal Year 2010
budget includes $200 million to construct the new rail tunnel under the Hudson River.
The budget also recommends the Tunnel for an "Early Systems Work Agreement" which
demonstrates the project has the full backing of the federal government.
In January, bipartisan members of the New Jersey and New York congressional
delegations wrote to Obama and congressional leaders to stress the importance of this
project and seek support for it in the Economic Recovery Act.
2009 Meeting Schedule Finalized
Only two more months before the NJBMDA’s annual golf outing, scheduled for July 20
at Battleground Country Club in Manalapan. Also, the management roundtable and
annual business meeting has been scheduled for November 18 in East Brunswick.
