PRESTIGIOUS HUMBER QUAYS OFFICE SCHEME FORGES AHEAD Work on the second office building at Humber Quays is well underway, with the steelwork frame already creating an impact on the skyline of this £5.5 million six-floor prestigious development. Two Humber Quays, which is being developed by regeneration specialist Priority Sites, will be one of the highest specification office developments in the city, and is expected to accommodate around 250 staff when it opens later this year. Already Priority Sites is reporting keen interest among prospective tenants for the 11 office suites that are available for let – from individual suites of 1,575 sq ft floor space through to the total 35,581 sq ft of space – with secured car parking spaces available. Work is on-schedule with building contractor Caddick Construction due to complete the development in September 2007. The scheme design incorporates a high level of environmental features to secure a ‘very good’ rating under the building industry’s sustainability benchmark, BREEAM. John Boanas, Development Director at Priority Sites comments: “Two Humber Quays will be the premier business address in the city, with spectacular views across the marina, old town and the Humber. “It is great to be moving ahead with the construction of this exciting project that will be an integral part of Hull Citybuild’s plans for boosting the city’s prosperity.” Andy Sloan, Hull City Council's Cabinet portfolio holder with responsibility for economy and regeneration issues added: “I've said it once and I'll say it again, Humber Quays has the true potential to be the downtown waterfront for Hull. Development momentum is gathering pace in this area, helping move the city in the right direction to become the rejuvenated capital of the East Riding." John Haymes, Development Director at Citybuild, added: “Humber Quays is now a reality and clear evidence that Hull is harnessing the potential of its superb waterfront to attract investment and development. “The steelwork of Two Humber Quays can be seen for several miles around, sending a clear message that Hull’s new business and international trade district is rapidly progressing and will soon be a hub of commercial activity.”
