									Indonesian In Country Program
       7 Jan – 15 Feb 2013

The Program will be held in Malang, East Java hosted
    by the State Islamic University (UIN) Malang.

This fully accredited Deakin
program is hosted by UIN Malang.
UIN campus is a

     AIF351 – third year (4 credit points)
Third Year Indonesian/Malay In-Country
        Prerequisite: AIF242 or equivalent

 AIF315 – third year advanced (2 credit pts)
   Indonesian/Malay Language and
         Contemporary Society
        Prerequisite: AIF342 or equivalent
     Cultural Program & Excursions
Cultural programs – afternoons & weekends.
Eg. memasak, musik, menari, membatik.

Kerawitan (gamelan)               membatik
Excursions may include:
• Taman Safari
• Blitar - birthplace & tomb of
  Sukarno (1st president)
• Jatim Park
• Malang tour
• Batu – mountain resort
• Mount Bromo
                      On campus shops
    snacks, stationery, toiletries, cold drinks, SIM cards, phone credit, etc

Near campus there are lots of shops for the student populations - warung makan,
warnet (warung internet), shops, laundry services, etc. A large modern shopping
mall called Matos (from ‘Malang Town Square’) is also nearby campus.
