LOCAL GOVERNMENT Issue 1
INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYERS
This bulletin is for those who have responsibility for providing, on behalf of your employing authority,
"end of year" pensions information.
This data, as at 31 March 2011, requires the Pensions Section to provide accurate pay and service
details for every scheme member in the fund.
To do this, we require pension contribution details and also the yearly cumulative figure of hours
worked by any scheme member who worked variable time during that period.
In order for this information to be loaded, processed and verified before being used for members
Annual Benefit Illustrations and closing accounts, it is imperative that the Pensions Section receives this
information by the end of April 2011. Please send the completed data to email@example.com.
I have attached the Annual Pension Contribution return, which must be completed. This must also be
balanced, as the figures shown on your return should match the monies paid over during the year.
Also attached is a spreadsheet for the provision of individual member contribution details, this was
expanded 2 years ago to cope with individuals who paid at different contribution rates during the
year either because of separate employments or re-banding during the year.
It also requires the contribution rate for the coming year. I had hoped to have confirmation of the
2011 bandings by this time, but this has still not been confirmed. I have therefore taken the decision
to send this bulletin in order that you can at least commence your preparations. As soon as I have
the 2011 bandings confirmed, I shall re-issue a further notice immediately.
