9.26.1           SYSTEM SUMMARY


Hernando County has a type 4, E9-1-1 system consisting of one Primary and one Secondary
Public Service Answering Point. (PSAP’s). The Primary PSAP is located at the Hernando
County Sheriff's Office, and the Secondary PSAP is located at Spring Hill Fire Rescue.


9.26.1.1         SHERIFF'S OFFICE PRIMARY PSAP


A Primary PSAP for the unincorporated and incorporated area is located in the Sheriff's Office.
Direct dispatching is accomplished at this PSAP for the Sheriff, Hernando County Fire Rescue,
Brooksville Police and Fire Departments, High Point Volunteer Fire Department and Hernando
Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Fire, EMS and other emergency calls for service for Spring
Hill are transferred or relayed.


9.26.2           SYSTEM MANAGEMENT


The Hernando County 9-1-1 system is under the management of the Sheriff via the Board of
County Commissioners. A 9-1-1 coordinator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the
database generated by the county and the service provider.




Hernando County Sheriff’s Office PSAP


The Hernando County PSAP is operated by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office under the
management of the Sheriff. The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners funds the
PSAP.


Spring Hill Fire Rescue PSAP


The Spring Hill PSAP is operated by the Spring Hill Fire Rescue District under the management
of the Fire Chief. The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners funds the PSAP.

9.26.3           INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS


The Hernando County E9-1-1 system has selective routing. Therefore, no specific interlocal
agreement is required.
