The 2009 Cincinnati Flower Show Gala will Astonish Guests!
The Cincinnati Flower Show, produced by the Cincinnati Horticultural Society, will
celebrate twenty years of fabulous Flower Shows with an astonishing gala extravaganza
April 17th, 2009. Prepare to be astonished as the Flower Show debuts at its exquisite new
location at Symmes Township Park, located on North Lebanon Road.
The Gala, which will be filled with many surprises, begins with cocktails and hors d’
oeuvres in the Grand Marquee and progress to a sit down dinner and dessert in the
breathtaking new Gala Pavilion. Chef’s Choice Catering will host the evening.
The Gala will honor special individuals who have given the Flower Show their spirit,
creativity and dedication for twenty exemplary years. Honorees are:
• Jerry Eichert, Anderson Township
• Marsha and Ed Haberer, Indian Hill
• Marie Huenefeld, Terrace Park
• Bob Maddux, Western Hills
The Gala will benefit The Cincinnati Horticultural Center’s Children’s Garden, at the
historic Symmes Township Meade Property, the Society’s future home. The Meade
property is located just 5 minutes from the I-275 Indian Hill/Loveland/Madeira exit. This
garden is being created for children and the young at heart – a place where plants,
children and imaginations will grow. It will have child-size structures - a tree house, a
teahouse and a theater stage. Characters and story elements from favorite books w ill
come to life. Fun filled and educational experiences will foster the next generation of
Chairpersons for the event include:

Committee members are Claudia Cummings, Renie Dohrmann, Linda Green, Marsha
Haberer, Stella Hassan, Marie Huenefeld, Jennifer Johnson, Sherie Marek, Digi Schuler,
Kathy Wagner and Donna Wymore.
Gala tickets are $150 per person. Black Tie is optional and there will be Valet parking.
The Flower Show Gala will preview the stunning floral designs and spectacular gardens
being presented by hundreds of landscapers, growers, designers and amateur competitors
participating in the 20th Anniversary Flower Show, being held April 18 through April 26.
The Cincinnati Flower Show is the flagship event of the Cincinnati Horticultural Society,
a 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1988 to benefit organizations that promote the quality
