User Experience Design Consultant July 2011 - Present
Genentech, South San Francisco, Ca
Working as part of Usability team to create user-centered interaction designs for an external facing web
portal serving patients, physicians and providers working with Genentech's Access to Care group. Current
responsibilities include:
- Define and validate user experience through iterative usability testing. Develop usability testing
goals, objectives, scenarios, quantitative and qualitative data measures. Prepare and facilitate test
sessions.
- Translate the results of usability tests into actionable suggestions for improving/enhancing user
experiences; work with Development and QA teams to identify, document, and resolve design-
related issues. Prepare usability test result reports for project stakeholders.
- Create and document UX strategy and guidelines, develop templates for UX deliverables, write
proposals for usability engagements per each project in different phases of SDLC.
- Develop storyboards, wireframes, conceptual diagrams, interaction models and flow diagrams in
support of user requirements; insure their consistency with company and project standards for
interaction and visual design. Present designs to both customers and development team.

Senior Information Architect, UX Team Lead 2009 – 2011

Designed variety of consumer facing web based enterprise applications in pharmaceutical regulatory and
compliance space as well as internal CRM, CMS and WFM tools and mobile platform products. Oversaw
the design initiative and design implementation for a brand new product line comprised of 11 separate
projects.
- Successfully led a team of 4 designers through user-centered design and development activities
throughout the engineering lifecycle including: product requirements gathering and validation, task
analysis, UI design and prototyping, usability testing, functional specification development,
software engineering and post implementation support. Communicated team’s designs to various
stakeholders and cross functional teams within the organization.
- Educated engineering and product management on the importance and benefits of user centered
design approach; established usability testing; incorporated the best practices of user centered
design into engineering lifecycle; reduced the number of issues found during User Acceptance

in the healthcare IT industry. The user base reached 300K from zero within 2 years exceeding business
growth projections by 20%. New product comprised of the main consumer facing web site, CRM, CMS and
workflow supporting systems.
- Led cross-functional project teams of 5-10 people through all elements of the development life
cycle to deliver products on time with high quality while meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Prepared and moderated usability tests, developed usability testing protocols, scenarios and
questionnaires to produce the most effective user experience.

Contributed to 31% site traffic growth in 2005-2007 with the launch of new channels and features.

increased the volume of user contributed content, producing additional revenue generating inventory at
minimum cost. Contributed to successful launch of Google ads and search across the network, fulfilling a
deal worth some $900 million.
- Gathered and processed requirements from the product management, business stakeholders,
Search Engine Optimization team and end-users in order to define the precise project scope,
complete feature set, business objectives and KPI metrics.
- Conducted competitive research, performed heuristic auditing of user interfaces to achieve feature
