Main purpose of the position:

Key Accountabilities:
 Amortise programme stock on a monthly basis and prepare monthly, yearly and ad hoc profitability
   reports
 Carry out such other reasonable duties that may be required

Requirements:
 Grade twelve/matric with 2 years accounts experience
 Experience with the SAP computer system would be an added advantage
 Aptitude for working to exact deadlines
 Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
 Good presentation skills
 Ability to handle pressure
 Ability to pay attention to detail
 Knowledge of the PFMA and GAAP/IFRS would be an advantage

Administrative Officer (Programming Department)

Key Accountabilities:
 Dissemination of information from foreign acquisitions to all relevant departments within SABC and
   externally
 Feeding information into and working with the centralised mainframe system
 Keeping and controlling different databases (mainly screeners and publicity of acquired - and to be
   considered programming)
 Keep and update list of distributors
 Attend meetings weekly the operational and scheduling meetings
 Making appointments, travel and hotel arrangements for international markets
 General office administration for acquisitions department
 Desktop research as and when needed in the department
 Answering of phones, co-ordinating diaries, setting up meetings, managing the filing system, taking of
   and preparation of minutes of meetings
 Acceptance and registering of all material sent to the programming department
 Assist in compilation of information required for business plans

Requirements:
 Grade twelve/matric
 4 - 5 years experience in the administrative field
 Thorough knowledge of general office administration
 Computer literacy (MsExcel, PowerPoint, MsWord, and Internet Explorer)
 Excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
 Ability and willingness to pay meticulous attention to detail
 Experience in the television environment will be an advantage
 Knowledge and appreciation of SABC3 programmes are essential


SABC3
Programme Acceptance Officer/s
[3 x Fixed Term Contract Positions - Scale Code 405]

Main purpose of position: To evaluate and edit the contents of programmes in accordance with
SABC policy compliance regulations and in preparation for transmission on SABC3.
Key Responsibilities:
 To evaluate content and technical quality of scheduled programmes
 Compile reports and final control sheets with great care
 Select ad breaks at appropriate places and select age indicator and symbols in accordance
  with SABC3's guidelines
 Writing of a well thought through programme synopsis for on-air presentation and publicity
  purposes
 Organise bookings at transfer facilities
 Advise on suitability of programme content for scheduling purposes
 Answer programme content queries from the public and other sections in the SABC
 Communicate any queries and problems to the manager of the department
 Liaise with foreign acquisition department and purchasing office regarding international
  programme arrival and make sure that the running order is correct
 Thorough knowledge of the SABC’s Editorial Policies and Broadcast Code
 Knowledge in capturing the Final Control Sheets on TVBMS
 To do QCC on local Content & liaise with Local Production Houses regarding the arrival of
  content

Requirements:
 Grade 12/matric
 Experience in post production and the broadcasting environment
 Accurate and meticulous working skills
 Good command and understanding of the English language
 Attention to detail
 Strong sense of judgment
 Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines and out of the normal working
  hours
 Excellent hearing and visual abilities
 Computer literacy is essential
 High ethics and integrity essential

Project Co-Ordinator
[Fixed Term Contract Position ID 6000140 - Scale Code 401]

Main purpose of the position: To be an integral and proactive liaison between the On-Air
manager, Creative Directors, promo producers as well as internal / external stakeholders
anticipating and providing solutions in a creative and innovative way to facilitate the smooth
progress of projects on time, to the highest possible standards

Key Accountabilities:
 Effective resource management to meet team demands
 To co-ordinate and manage Graphics and DS Nitris facility bookings
 Manage, planning, research, booking and co-ordination of production shoots
 Liaise with contractors, agencies, publicity, freelancers and internal departments
 Submission and administration of quotes, invoices, payments and renewal of contracts
 Assist Creative Directors with planning and scheduling of projects within time and budget
  constraints
 To co-ordinate projects to a high standard that reflects the creative output of SABC3
 To co-ordinate all administration (estimates, timing plans, flow charts etc) and attend /arrange
  all project meetings/briefings as required
 Communicate project status/potential problems with solutions to On-Air manager and Creative
  Directors in a timely manner
 Anticipate and be proactive in facilitating the smooth flow of projects with producers to meet
  expectations
 Validating copyright and permission issues for On-Air projects
 Manage media plans for promo placement as well as post campaign analysis
 Populate Pixel power promo for effective on-air communication
 Assist On-Air Manager with administration

Requirements:
 Tertiary qualification or relevant diploma
 At least 5-9 years traffic/project co-ordination or production experience
 Excellent understanding of broadcasting processes
 Knowledge of time requirements and creative/artwork/production processes and limitations
 Work to contextualize production management activity
 Excellent communication skills
 Excellent management skills
 Attention to detail
 Advanced experience on TVBMS system would be an added advantage
 Computer literacy
 Willingness to, on occasion, work irregular hours
