Volunteers Needed (any age)
For Senior Outreach in the Town of New Scotland
Do you have an hour or two to give a *senior?
Once a week?
Once a month?
Once in awhile?
Drivers with clean licenses for car, bus or both. No special license is needed.
In the car we take seniors to appointments: Medical, hair, legal,
for banking, for visits with old friends in nursing homes, etc.
In the van we take seniors to social, health and recreational
events within one hour drive of the town: congregate meals
with site seeing on the way, church dinners & breakfasts,
firehouse events, movies, plays, etc.
People with computer skills, to enter data and help update senior department
program information to be handed out.
People to answer phones and do call backs
People to: Mow a lawn, clean a gutter, fix a lawn mower, rake a lawn, put
in an air conditioner, move a piece of furniture, clean a room, help
with cleaning out a garage, picking up branches, etc.
Skilled people: like accountant, attorneys, counselors, carpenters, electricians,
plumber, organizers, etc. This kind of needed might only occur once.
