The 29th Annual Cooper’s Fitness Fun Run/Walk event is scheduled for Friday, May 11, 2012. Here’s a recap of the highlights:
Location: Hudson Mills Metro Park, 8801 N. Territorial Rd., Dexter, MI
Start Time: 10:30 a.m. SHARP
Course: Paved path through woods, meadows and over streams; Wheelchair accessible, No bikes/rollerblades
Inclement Weather: If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather the event would not be rescheduled. Notification
would go out by local school district alert systems.
New this year: We have made some changes to our registration process. Registration will still include a T-shirt, ribbon and/or trophy for
all participants. However, all T-Shirt orders must now be submitted & payed for via an online payment system hosted by the Dexter
Community Schools Business Office. As a Teacher/Coach, you will have 2 options for registration…
Option 1: Collect money from each of your athletes the same way you have in the past. Instead of sending the money to Dexter
High School, deposit it in your school or personal account, log on to Payschool, and order all of your athletes T-Shirts. Print out
the confirmation page and attach it with your registration form and send to Megan in Dexter.
Option 2: Send home the instructions for PaySchool to the parents/guardians of your athletes and have them all register their
student via PaySchool. Ask them to print out and send their confirmation page to you. Once you have received all of the
confirmation pages for your students, attach them all to your registration form and send them to Megan in Dexter. (If you chose
this option, I have included a sample parent letter you can edit/send home with the PaySchool instructions.
**For either option, please refer to the attached PaySchools Registration Instructions. Online Registration will open on
January 1st. Please make sure you complete and submit your registration no later than March 16, 2012
Scholarships: If you are unable to attend the Fun Run due to financial concerns, please contact Katy Fillion for scholarship
information. Scholarships are available to help offset transportation costs for those districts that need it. Please explore other options for
financial support as well as Fun Run Scholarship funds are limited.
Please train for this event. The purpose of this annual event is to encourage life-long physical fitness for our participants. It is fine to walk
- no one has to run. Walking is just as good as running. If a participant cannot make it one time around, please modify the course to fit
On the day of the event, please arrive early. This event has grown to over 1100 participants. The event will start at 10:30 a.m. SHARP.
Please bring your own lunch and picnic supplies. There are tables and grills available. If you are going to send a representative out early
to claim a space and tables for your group, please reserve the area and tables between the starting line and the parking area for the Fun
Event Choices: 2.7 miles (One time around paved bike path)
5.4 miles (Two times around paved bike path)
8 miles (Three times around paved bike path)
Awards: All athletes who finish their event will receive a ribbon
Up to 8th grade who finish two laps will receive a trophy
9th grade and over who finish three laps will receive a trophy

PaySchools Registration Instructions
1. All registrations for the 29th Cooper’s Annual Fitness Fun Run/Walk event will be online through the Dexter Community
Schools Business Office webpage at www.dexterschools.org/businessoffice. Follow the link to Parents PaySchoolsSpecial
Needs Programs OR directly at this link Fun Run.
2. Select your participant T-Shirt size. Click on . If you need more than one T-shirt in this size, choose the
quantity you need and click on . If you have additional registrations or T-shirts click on
and make your next selection.
3. When you are finished selecting all of your registrations/T-shirts, click on .
4. If you have never used the Dexter Community Schools PaySchools online system you will need to register. First time users,
please click here to register. Register with a name, address, telephone, email address, and select a password. You only need to
do this once and you need only one account per household. All future communications regarding the Fun/Walk Run and the T-
shirt delivery will be sent to the email you registered with on PaySchools.
5. If you do not already have students registered with the Dexter Community Schools online PaySchools system, add your
Student/Participant Information. Student ID’s are not required. If you are an adult ordering a T-Shirt, add the adult name as the
student and “A” in the grade option for Adult. Click on Add New Student.
6. At the bottom of page assign the appropriate name to each registration you have in your shopping cart. (If you are a
teacher/chaperone registering your entire class, you may use your name instead of a student name). Click on Continue.
7. To pay by check, complete the banking information requested.
To pay by Visa, MasterCard, Discover or PayPal click Pay by Credit Card or PayPal (Click Here)
Please note that PaySchools does not retain your credit card information nor have access to your PayPal login
8. You will receive an email confirmation from PaySchools. Print this out and turn in with your registration.
9. Select Sign Out to end your session.
