A special “Wildcat” Thank-You to these students for unselfishly giving their time to help off-load needed equipment for
our school. They are: Christopher Crisostomo, Clayton Lizama, Frank Troy, Ryan Manglona, Klien Pascua, Jeremy
Salas, Naomi Blaz and RC Choban.
Kudos to Roland Cruz for assisting with the movement of the much needed student desks and chairs from JFK to UMS, as
well as Mr. Vince Quintanilla and Bernie Gumataotao for assisting with the transfer of the whiteboards and corkboards.
Kudos to Mr. Frank Hernandez for assisting with the supervision of the students on a daily basis during lunch, morning,
and passing times. Because of his presence and visibility, many infractions are prevented.
Kudos to teams 6B (Lynx), 7B (Tigers), and 8C (Jaguars) for turning in their team binders for their bi-weekly review.
The quality of their team binders are indicative of a focused meeting that are results oriented.
Kudos to Dave Borja for sharing his knowledge and providing guidance to our new UMS teachers in regards to the
procedures for Skills Assessment and Learning Quality and Accountability forms.
Kudos to 8b (Panthers) and Benny Chargualaf for sharing the Thinkwave online grading program with his colleagues and
promoting technology and enhancing the home school connection.

want to attend. Once this number is submitted to Michelle Perez (Top-of-The-Reef), the school is obligated to pay for
the number of people attending. Our Christmas party is scheduled for:12/19/08, Top-Of-The-Reef, 6pm-11pm, Price:

Team Leaders: Please turn in your team binders every non-payday Friday.
Due to the shortage of resources to hire substitutes, we are currently asking team teachers NOT to absorb their team
students. Unfortunately, this practice has an unintended effect of not only creating classroom management issues, but
also poses a fire hazard issue. Rather, see Brenda in the main office to determine where your students will be placed. In
addition, we are asking for emergency lesson plans, which is generic in nature, to keep the students focused.
Teachers please turn in a copy of your updated teaching certificate/syllabus/emergency lesson plans to Curriculum Office.
Please use your issued Identification Number from GPSS, not your social security number, on leave forms timesheets.
Teachers please attend meetings called by your content representatives or team leaders. Critical information for professional growth and
school/classroom operations are discussed in the meetings.
It has come to my attention that not all teachers are able to read the bulletin and pass down pertinent information to their students or miss
important meetings. Although it is our vision to have all teachers become technologically literate, unfortunately we are currently unable to
provide the proper resources to meet this vision. The bulletin is one of the consistent medium of information at UMS. The careful reading of
the bulletin is critical for a smooth operation of the school. Therefore, we will provide teachers who are unable to access the internet with hard
copies of the bulletin. Please inform Ms. Betty if you can’t access an electronic copy.
Congratulations to the following students for being a part of Peer Mediation this school year. They will take on this responsibility on top of
their other duties in school. Refresher training has taken place October 6 by Inafa Maolek (YUMS) for students who were mediators for SY
07-08*. The new members will receive training by November.
