                               Clarify Your Values

Your values reflect what is truly important to you—who you really are. Most get caught up with
“being good,” “looking good,” or “making ends meet.” As a result, many people who are
outwardly successful actually feel very unfulfilled.

When you are engaged and present to one or more of your values, you feel excited, fulfilled
and at ease. Becoming clear about what is important to you is the first step in strategically building
a business that works for you. By identifying your values you can begin to live by them on
purpose, taking your life (and results) to a whole new level of success and fulfillment.
   1. Read through the list of values on the next page.
   2. Circle 10 that resonate with you. It is very important that you be honest about what you
      actually value or love to do with your time. You may be surprised by yourself! Some
      values you will know intuitively, others require that you be straight with yourself.
   3. Pay special attention to words that make you uncomfortable—this type of emotional
      response is a signal to you that something is important here. Remember: there are no
      “good” values and no “bad” values; there is only who you are.
   4. Identify the three or four key values that are the most important to you. Once you
      have a list of ten values, compare them with each other to determine which are similar
      and which are the most exciting. Narrow the list to four values and write them down at
      the top of the page following the listing.

Once you have clarified your values, you have the raw material for the creation of an extraordinary
business and life. Clarifying your values and beliefs, sets the stage for you to define your mission
and purpose.
