2.   Background

The Bricks and Tile unit of the National Industries corporation was first Established in 1957,and this
was incorporated into Ceylon Ceramics Corporation in 1972 (CCC).

The CCC Produces different types of roofing tiles and Bricks .There are nine factories and out of
them 6 factories are functioning now .Uswewa and Eragama factories are financially viable and
produce Bricks & Tile at present. Mahiyanganaya and Alayapattuwa display potential to make profit
after the proper Operational restructuring and equipment upgrade.

6.   Good Will

With the support of the government now Ceylon Ceramics Corporation is produce best quality Tiles
& Bricks. They are popular among the people with their brand name “Sanstha Tile” & “Sanstha
Bricks” .Accordingly this has led to build up a good will on CCC.
