Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for the Company’s safety program.
• Develop, implement, monitor and manage safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and develop hazard control practices and

• Evaluate individual work stations and make recommendations to prevent injuries which
include but are not limited to cumulative trauma disorders, repetitive strain injuries and
acute soft tissue injuries. Includes PPE hazardous assessment.

• Work with plant safety teams to develop standard operating procedures based on best
practices
• Develop training courses to educate all levels of management on policy compliance and
changes in regulations

• Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA standards and guidelines.
• Manage and maintain safety training records as required by OSHA.
• Perform safety inspections/audits
• Assess new developments in the health and safety field that may impact company
operations.
• Research and recommend safety equipment.
• Investigate serious injuries and notify top management of pertinent details.
• Responsible for maintenance of safety and accident records.
• Communicate hazard control information and evaluates effectiveness of the control.
• Guide and assist plant personnel with critical safety and health issues.
• Train, counsel, and advise plant personnel on all safety issues.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead monthly Safety Steering Committee.
• Conduct regularly scheduled, mandatory Employee Safety Meetings.
• Maintain a safety library (videos, reference manuals, etc).

Physical Demands
• Flexible schedule required to work with all shifts.

Qualifications
1. Education and Experience
• Minimum of five years of safety management experience or have demonstrated
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.

2. Specific Skills
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or Certified Director of Safety (CDS)
certification a plus.
• Sound knowledge of safety management principles and practices.
• High level of knowledge of regulatory requirements - OSHA regulations including
HAZCOM and hearing conservation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including computer skills utilizing MS
Office.
• Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated, task oriented.
• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and
external contacts
• Solid decision making skills
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and complete goals within stringent time
frames.

provide Machinery Control Systems support to the Littoral Combat Ship program,
Philadelphia, PA. Duties include the following requirements:

Requirements:
Provide technical support to Ship Design Managers (SDMs) and their designated Points of
Contacts for all issues associated with integration and operation of the ship’s Machinery
Controls System. Systems controlled include:
Auxiliary Systems (i.e. Chilled Water, AC Plant, Aviation Fuel)
Propulsion Systems (i.e., Propulsion Diesel Engines, Gas Turbines, Fuel Systems, Sea Water
Cooling, Reduction Gears)
