                             PETITION OF SHELL OIL COMPANY FOR THE ADOPTION
                             OF SPECIAL FIELD RULES FOR THE ALCORN FIELD
                             CLAIBORNE AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES, MISSISSIPPI

                   This day this cause came on for hearing before the State Oil and Gas

         Board of Mississippi on the Petition of Shell Oil Company requesting the State

         Oil and Gas Board to adopt special field rules for the Alcorn Field, Claiborne

         and Jefferson Counties, Mississippi, and the Board, having considered argument

/>_,     of counsel and having heard the testimony of witnesses and having been fully

         advised in the premises, finds as follows:

                   Due proper and legal notice of the meeting of the Board for the

         purpose of considering and taking action with respect to this matter has been

         given in the time, manner and way as provided by law and the Rules and

         Regulations of the Board and due, legal and sufficient proofs of publication

         are on file with the Board and the Board has full jurisdiction of the parties

         and the subject matter^ and has authority to hear and determine said matter.

                    The Shell-Conn et al Unit No. 1 Well located 1232 feet from the

O        south line and 1435 fcjet from the east line of Section 54, Township 11 North,

         Range 1 East, Claiboriie County, Mississippi, is completed in the Washita/
                                     s
         Fredericksburg Formation of the Alcorn Field pursuant to Permit No. 283 issued

         by the Board on October 24, 1979.          The well has tested commercial quantities

         of oil and gas flowing from the Washita/Fredericksburg Formation from the

          interval of 10509 feetj to 10519 feet.

                    The Shell-Fox, et al Unit No. 1 Well has been drilled and completed

          184 feet from the south line and 1005 feet from the west line of Section 4,

          Township 10 North, Range 1 East, Jefferson County, Mississippi, in the Alcorn

 W        Field on a 320-acre drilling unit pursuant to Permit No. 661 issued March 18,

    1981.       The Shell-Greer, et al Unit No. 1 Well has been drilled and completed

    2158 feet from the north line and 1000 feet from the east line of Section 4,

    Township 10 North, Range 1 East, Claiborne County, Mississippi, in the Alcorn

    Field on a 320-acre drilling unit pursuant to Permit No. 901 issued June 17,

    1981.   •

                   The Board, having fully considered said matter and the evidence and

    recommendations made in said hearing, is of the opinion that the following

    Special Field Rules should be adopted for the prevention of waste and the

    protection of the coequal and correlative rights of all owners in said field.

                   IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED by the State Oil and

    Gas Board of Mississippi that the following Special Field Rules be and the

    same are hereby adopted for the Alcorn Field located in Claiborne and

    Jefferson Counties, Mississippi, to take effect and be enforced from and after

    7:00 a.m.      on the 16th day of December,    1981, to wit:

                             SPECIAL FIELD RULES FOR THE ALCORN FIELD
                           CLAIBORNE AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES, MISSISSIPPI



       FIELD LIMITS:



                    The Aicorn Field as used herein in that area consisting of Sections

       54 and 55, Township 11 North, Range 1 East, Claiborne County, and Sections 3

       and 4, Township 10 North, Range 1 East, Claiborne and Jefferson Counties,

       and Sections 13 and 14, Township 10 North, Range 1 East, Jefferson County,

       Mississippi, underlain by the Washita/Fredericksburg Gas Pool as herein

       defined and all productive extensions thereof correlative and interconnected

       WASHITA/FREDERICKSBURG FORMATION:

                    The Washita/Fredericksburg Gas Pool in the Aicorn Field as used

       herein shall be construed to mean those strata of the Washita/Fredericksburg

       Formation productive of gas in the interval between 10020 feet and 10900 feet

       in the Shell-Greer et al Unit No. 1 Well located 2158 feet from the north line

       and 1000 feet from the east line of Section 4, Township 10 North, Range 1

       East, Claiborne County^ Mississippi, as indicated on the electric log of said

       well and including thofce strata productive of gas which can be correlated and

       interconnected therewith.

       APPLICABILITY OF STATEWIDE RULES:


                    All rules and regulations contained in Statewide Order No.           201-51

       and amendments thereto* not in conflict with the foregoing Special Field

       Rules,   are hereby adopted and shall apply in said field.

                    The Board expressly reserves the right, after notice and hearing,             to

       alter, amend or repeal? any and all of the above and foregoing rules and

       regulations.                   :

                    THIS ORDER shall take effect and be enforced.from and after

       7:00 a.m.    on the 16th day of December,           1981.
