							March 2012, Investigations into Albany, Oregon UFO sightings



Over a million sober, well-qualified people have witnessed UFO's. Sightings from scientists, engineers,
astronauts, pilots, presidents, and populations of entire cities have been documented. Yet the official
word from the military, scientific communities, and governments is that UFO's do not exist. UFO stands
for Unidentified Flying Object; this may apply to any strange aircraft witnessed in the sky at any given
time. What the military, government, and scientific communities are denying are the existence of aliens
and UFO's from other planets. But let's narrow this down to one particular area of the country. Near
where I live, and the amazing reports that have been coming in for years.

  I believe that together our programmed fear of losing status, our tendency to follow the group
consensus, and our use of faith and denial to override logic and deliberation has driven us to reject the
existence of aliens and UFO's. But with the vastness of space and the multitude of galaxies out there,
how self centered we must feel if we deny that there might be life on other planets, and that they have
intelligence.

  I will list some current sightings in Albany, Oregon. They will be out of order, due to the fact that in
my research I kept turning up reports at random times and had interviews with witnesses. Names will
be withheld to protect the people who reported.



  Date of Sighting: April 19, 2011

  Time of Sighting: 1:40 am

  Location of Sighting: Albany, Oregon

    Description: "I saw something last night that seemed too strange and curious to be a plane,
helicopter, planet, a star or a satellite. First of all, I felt a strange sense of energy or sensation that woke
me up around 1:40 am and I have windows in the upstairs bedroom that faces south. I remember when
I first went to bed, the moon was to the southeast of this later object I will be seeing. During the
sighting the moon moved to the southwest of this object. I saw a moving lighted object in the south sky
like a distant helicopter or something. It shot up very rapidly vertically or sometimes horizontally and in
circles. Sometimes it looked like it was heading north towards me, but at other times, east and west. I
sat up and continued to observe this moving light for an hour and a half. It didn't seem to go away for
the duration of the time I watched it. I never thought to take my phone camera to take a picture of it.
The lack of a photo weakens my case that I really saw this object. Because I was upright in bed, my
husband asked what is going on. I told him calmly I was watching a curious pattern of a moving object in
the distant southern sky. He continued to sleep. I seemed to be alone, with these sightings and need
help finding others that may have seen this single lighted object erratically moving in that location. I
checked the local news and didn't find others that saw what I saw last night. If you have been informed
and can verify that they are not crazy, I would like to know if the sighting was already documented."
  Note: A similar sighting occurred around the time of the above sighting in Beaverton, Oregon.
Beaverton is about 70 miles north of Albany.



  Date of Sighting: June 21, 2011

  Time of Sighting: 2:26 pm

  Location of Sighting: Albany, Oregon

  Description: "On June 21, 2011, my friend's wife called him at his work in Albany just approximately
1/4 of a mile east of I-5 on Highway 20. She told my friend to check out the odd cloud formations just to
the south. At 2:26 pm he took a picture with his cell phone. The picture showed an apparent
discoloration and turbulence in the cloud near the object."

  Note: It is difficult to do much analysis on the photo because the cell phone photos are of low
resolution. However, zooming in reveals a circular object. It is doubtful that the object is a bird. Other
explanations are possible, but I don't know what they would be? I don't think that the "rainbow" effect
on clouds near the object is related to the object. It is most likely to be a reflection of sunlight into
primary colors. The correct term is "sun dog."

  Update: The color in the clouds is a parhelia (sun dog) or one of the other "atmospheric color" shows
(and there are a number of them) produced by the sun shining into thin cirrus clouds. Link:

  Date Sighting Reported: November 3, 2007

  Location of Sighting: Albany, Oregon

  Duration of Sighting: Unknown

  Specific Location of Sighting: On Highway 99E in Albany, Oregon (NW Oregon, about 20 miles South of
Salem)

  Number of Witnesses: Two

 Weather: Skies were overcast with cloud bases at 10,000 feet. Visibility was 5 miles in fog. Winds
were calm.

  Description: "About three days ago, my friend was taking me home from work. I work a graveyard
shift, so it was daylight at this time about 8 in the morning. The location was Albany, Oregon. The sky
was clear. I looked toward the sky and saw a trail of smoke. I said to my friend, look a skywriter! But
she had to drive and pay attention to the road. She didn't see it. I saw this white glowing object, shaped
like a cigar. I thought it was the Space Shuttle. It eased through the sky. I said Look at that! When we
almost wrecked into another car, she said what? I said the Space Shuttle! It wasn't natural. I never saw
a skywriter glow. I don't think the Space Shuttle glows either. Although we were shaken up a bit by our
near miss accident, we made it to my house, and I could still see it while she was driving off. I watched it
fly through the sky, then disappear. I don't know if she saw it, but I think she did. That is what almost
caused us to wreck into another vehicle. It scared her and me too. It wasn't natural. It glowed! I'm just
glad she got me home safe."

   Second Report by Wintess (During interview process): "We were traveling south on 99E. My friend
was taking me home. I don't think she saw it, but as I said in the report we almost wrecked into another
vehicle so maybe she did see it. Must have taken her attention from the road or I interested her by
talking about what I was looking at in the sky. The object in question was moving north on 99E clearly
visible to me. Maybe it was a test object? I don't know. It made no sound. It just cruised through the
sky. It was no meteor, and it wasn't a plane like I thought it was nor was it a skywriter! It was glowing!"

  Notes: I initially thought that the witnesses saw a meteor or "falling space junk," but given that the
witness still had the object in sight after she arrived home would rule out these causes due to the length
of time of the sighting. Whatever the witnesses saw was flying below 10,000 feet given the weather
conditions. Visibility was also somewhat restriced in fog so the object was probably within a few miles
of the witnesses. Given available information I don't know what the witnesses saw.



LATEST SIGHTINGS IN ALBANY:

1. 11-17-2009 - Sighted bright light about 5-40 degrees eastern sky that pulsed, dimming in barely
visible, gradually increasing to bright again.

2. 11-16-2009 - At about 4 pm, myself and a co-worker went outside for a cig break when I looked to the
sky and saw what looked like an orange fireball.

3. 10-12-2009 - Two fireballs in northwest sky.

4. 9-8-2009 - The craft was flying at approxiametly 200 feet with no lights on. It had no sound at all and
we were able to see it clearly. Reported from airport transmissions.

5. 8-15-2009 - Glowing sphere, definately not a plane or helicopter.

6. 12-14-2008 - Looking up at the sky for meteors and come across a real bright star but was moving and
had red flashing light on it then dissapeared.

7. 12-3-2008 - Search lights with no apparent origin from the ground.
8. 12-3-2008 - Four oval lighted shapes, flying rapidly in circle, coming together in single center point for
a few seconds, then apart again.

9. 10-15-2008 - Objects changed from oval to football shape for an hour.

10. 8-6-2008 - We saw two objects in the sky over Albany or that stood still then took off in the sky we
were driving north on I-5 just inside city limit.

11. 7-8-2008 - Silver cube with rubic cube center.

12. 3-27-2008 - It came after me and my dog. I was walking him that night.

13. 3-16-2008 - The object was a cross between cigar and cylinder. Red tip, blue back. Traveling at hight
rate of speed at same altitude as plane. Reported from Albany airport transmissions.

14. 3-1-2008 - Bright welders arc light in the night sky over Albany.

15. 9-1-2007 - Star makes right angle, turns, then speeds away.

16. 6-18-2007 - The UFO was trailing the air craft. Reported from Albany airport transmissions.

17. 6-1-2007 - It was just turning dark, it was very dark and the only unusual thing I have ever witnessed
in my life.

18. 11-2-2006 - Turkey hunters notice a very bright round light in sky. Object suddenly breaking into 8-
10 individual lights. Center was translucent.

19. 7-1-2006 - In the early evening, I saw a white egg-shaped object making its way across the sky.

20. 4-27-2006 - Man at highway rest stop witnesses a black delta-shaped jobject hovering motionless.
Object shoots "confined beam" down to ground and it was humming.

21. 11-3-2005 - Man reports witnessing triangular shaped craft pass overhead. Illuminated clouds that
changed shapes as well.

22. 6-7-2005 - Man observes bizarre rectangular object "with barber poles, with bulbs on the ends"
sticking out of opposite ends.

23. 6-6-2005 - Albany reports UFO with no sound, bright lights shaped object with an outline of brown.

24. 4-1-2005 - There were bright bursts of color in concentrated area of cloud for a couple of minutes.

25. 9-1-2003 - A bright star made right angle turns without deceleration and sped down over the
horizon.

26. 7-11-2001 - Three black egg shapes.

27. 1-15-2000 - Saucer over corn field on a cold winter night.
28. 7-7-2008 - In broad day light, it was as big as three aircraft carriers, but as silent as air. Moving very
slowly through the air.

29. 12-15-2007 - Flat black disc, no lights, spinning with a slight wobble and had no sound.

30. 7-15-2004 - At 10:30 pm, my father and I saw a black triangular shaped object in the sky with three
lights, one being green, the other two were red.

31. 6-1-2001 - Metallic saucer with row of orange glowing windows performed maneuvers via making
upward or downward angles then shot across the sky.

32. 11-12-2010 - I saw one white tubular object above the treeline that seemed to be hovering.



   The list goes on and on. Regardless if these are documented proof that they are genuine UFO's, there
is some reason why Albany, Oregon has been keeping their eyes on the skies. I leave you with some
photos that were taken in the skies of Albany, Oregon and allow you to make a determination for
yourself. For right now, this mystery remains unsolved.
