                            While the individual consequences of not graduating are
                            well documented and known, the true economic costs to

            According to the College Entrance Examination Board
            students with previous music experience and exposure
            in school score 56 points higher on the verbal portion
              of the test and 39 points higher on the math portion.

Program       Opening Minds Through the Arts
            National leader in the movement to integrate arts
            education with core curriculum.
            Began 2000-2001 at three elementary schools in Tucson
            In five years grown to 35 elementary and two middle
            schools.
            Independent assessment has proven that OMA improves
            both test scores and teacher effectiveness.
            Most important, OMA students from disadvantaged
            environments are starting to close the gap in academic
            performance and are now surpassing both state and
            national standards in all tested areas.

                             benefit schools as one program:

                                      college and adulthood such as basic business
