Autumn / Winter 2010 - Press Release
A Royal Affair
The Almost Famous Autumn/Winter 2010 collection paves the way for an elegant, rich and vibrant season.
With a mixture of opulent prints, we see feminine silhouettes, chunky knits, chic outerwear and the
signature dresses. An oil print touching on the Ying-Yang trend of the season; a new take on black and
white nostalgia. An optical illusion print in venetian red and green and cobalt blue and gold touch on a
futuristic Victoriana feel. A vivacious winter floral print runs through the collection tying in all the colours
of the season. From fir green to tonal shades of carmine red; regal blue and gold with hues of grape, wine,
ochre and blush nudes. Black and white makes a reappearance with hints of hot magenta. This season we
see the goings on in a regal palace...

with gold taping appliqué flies through the air followed by the hug-shrug knitted cerise cardi. She’s
prepared for the evening show as she prances to the hall in her hybrid-puffa coat; as she begins, the secrets
of the palace begin to unfold.
The Queen is of a majestic and stately nature, her silent opulence screams status and power. She glides
through the palace, elegantly in her optical illusion printed cloak in cobalt blue and gold; a saffron yellow
structured jersey dress with bolt on shoulder detail resides underneath. In the hall of Kings and Queens, her
eyes are drawn to the picture of herself in a gentian blue ungaro silk wrap dress with gold beaded detail at
the waist - her coronation. Beside it is a regal image of her on horse back – a lace-up detail coat in rich
navy, once a present, but alas the memory of from whom escapes her. She gazes at the beautiful floral print
lining which she never noticed before. Her grandeur has no bounds as she sits in her thrown wearing her
metallic rus-tech gold dress. Her King by her side, she welcomes her people, her servant girl knelt by her
The Servant lives a life filled with anger and envy towards the Queen; her aim? To revolt. She wears
shades of green and venetian red; eyes filled with fury, she resides in her servant quarters; an optical
illusion print of revenge covers her walls in red and green. She throws off her Trompe l’oeil detailed knit in
flame red, discarding it on the floor next to her burnt out leaves detail dress. She falls to her knees, tears
running down her face, and her eyes find the gift she received from the King. A Forest green military coat
with structured lapels and vibrant floral lining; she remembers it all and her heart breaks again and again.
