Head Teacher: Miss Jane Hiller

Dear Parents and Carers

After 20 years as our Head Teacher, Miss Hiller has decided after much soul searching that she will
retire at the end of this academic year.

Miss Hiller has been a highly effective Head an inspirational leader of our school and she has been
and remains much loved by the children she has guided through this stage of their education.

The Vice Chair, Mr Chilton and I have been working with Miss Hiller on the subject of succession
planning for some time and joined by our fellow Governors we are now working hard on the
recruitment of a new Head. Our aim is to have a new Head Teacher appointed by the end of May
and in the next few weeks you may see the role advertised on the Trafford council website and in
the Times Education Supplement.

Our aim is appoint a motivated, dedicated and dynamic individual, with clear strategic leadership
and vision to lead our school. We believe that the successful candidate will be someone who will;

 Ensure that Moorlands Junior School continues to put the best interests of the children and
the forefront of everything it does, whilst promoting the continual pursuit of the highest
possible standards in all aspects of teaching and learning
 Build upon our latest Ofsted report and Outstanding status to not only maintain this level
but to improve outcomes for all of our children
 Understand the unique challenges and opportunities afforded by our Junior school status.
 Demonstrate proven and effective leadership and management skills at Key Stage 2

I very much look forward to being able to introduce our new Head to you and asking you to join me
in saying farewell to Miss Hiller at our end of year concert in July.

       Chair of Governors
