                                                     Helping Hands…Healing Hearts
Mission Statement:
Domestic Violence Project, Inc. provides emergency and supportive services, including drug and alcohol treatment,
to victims of domestic violence and promotes increased public awareness of domestic violence issues.

Volunteers are the helping hands of Domestic Violence Project, Inc., and they provide the valuable support
that allows us to heal the hearts of those affected by domestic violence. You can make a difference in our
community and in the lives of others by sharing your time and talents. As a volunteer with Domestic Violence
Project, your help supports the goals of the agency, which are to provide a 24-hour hotline, safe shelter,
counseling, case management, legal advocacy, childcare, and prevention education to domestic violence
victims and their children. Your volunteer hours will help victims escape the cycle of violence and prevent
future family violence. One kind heart will help the hearts of others!

Your help can change someone’s life and is greatly appreciated!

In addition to volunteering at an event, volunteers are needed for various committees with different levels of
involvement and time commitment. Below is a complete list of DVPI’s events, including a list of the many
      volunteer opportunities.

Hearts with Hope Dinner/Auction September - March
This is our signature fundraiser. The funds raised at this dinner/auction support the necessities: two
emergency shelter facilities, legal advocacy, 24-hour crisis hotline, counseling, and prevention and
educational services for victims and their children throughout Stark County.

          Running4Hope 5K November - May
Partnered with the Subway Challenge Series, this 5K offers the entire family an energizing and healthy way
to spend your time cheering runners/walkers across the finish line.

Golfing for Hope Golf Outing January-September
DVPI’s golf scramble is held in September. Generating funds and creating awareness for the agency helped
this event be a HOLE-IN-ONE for everyone involved.

Take Back the Night Event June - October
Take Back the Night Event honors victims, celebrates survivors and challenges community members to
help put a stop to violence against women. Last year, two events were held in Massillon at First United
Methodist Church and in Canton at Malone University.
