Welcome to the Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) at Brooke Army Medical Center
(BAMC). I realize that this is a challenging and trying time in the lives of you and your loved
ones. On behalf of the entire BAMC community, I want to welcome you and ensure you
that we will do our best to make sure you and your family receive world-class care and
are always treated with respect and compassion. Brooke Army Medical Center is a
modern, state-of-the-art health care facility and absolutely the best place in the
Department of Defense for you to receive your care.
Each of you will be assigned or attached to the WTB Headquarters and Headquarters
Company initially upon your arrival. You will be met at the hospital or airport by a
reception NCO who will ensure you and your family is welcomed, medical care
immediately coordinated, and transportation and housing arranged. They will be
available for all your needs upon arrival and assist you during your stay. You will be
assigned a squad leader, Nurse Case Manager and Primary Care Manager when you
arrive that will be designated as your Triad of Care responsible for coordinating all aspects
of your care. Your reception NCO will ensure you have all of the contact information for
your Triad as well as all contact information for your chain of command.
These staff members will assist you in the healing process with a comprehensive
transition plan. Your efforts, the efforts of the command, the Triad of Care and your family
will be important in your journey to rehabilitate and then either remain in the military or
transition to civilian life. We have a dedicated staff to serve you in that transition regardless
of the path you chose. We are honored and appreciate the sacrifices you and your family
have made for our country.
Your care is our number one priority and the entire Warrior Transition Battalion and Brooke
Army Medical Center staff is here for you. My door is always open and I am ready to assist
you with issues that you have not found resolution for at the TRIAD level, your chain of
command or anytime you feel that you need my assistance directly.
