                      By Carole Lewis
Date and Time: Wednesdays, Starting Sept. 2, 5:30-7 p.m.

Course Format: Lecture, video, discussion, and workbook

Facilitator: Wendy Monical, Donna Smith

Course Length: 10 weeks

Cost: First time taking First Place - $109.00 (includes one-time
                                        purchase of member kit)
Returning member - $20.00 (Bible study book only)

Overview: Although weight management is most often the
motivation for joining a First Place 4 Health group, the focus is
not just on the body-or on the number on the scale. By
applying disciplines that affect the whole person—the body, the
mind, the heart and the spirit—you will not only experience
physical health but will also experience total health—health for
life!
Returning members will study Celebrate Success, a new Bible
study which explores what God's Word has to say about
celebration and will help you discover ways to celebrate your
life's milestones and victories in a way that glorifies God. In
God's kingdom, celebration is always intended to reaffirm the
commitment to a life lived in conformity to God's Word, which
always gives reason for celebration regardless of the occasion!
New members will study Begin with Christ, the first in the
series of Bible studies created for the First Place 4 Health
program. It will help you focus on surrendering your mind,
body, emotions and soul to God.
                       Table Talk

Date and Time: Sundays, Starting August 30, 6-7 p.m.

      to write down notes in!

Overview: Looking for answers to some of those tough
theological questions you’ve been wrestling with? Have a
question you’ve been dying to ask someone? Well this is the
class for you! Bro. John will guide the discussion each week on
a particular theological question or area of study. Topics will be
chosen by consensus of the class, and then the text of
Scripture will be engaged to find the answers. Come join the
fun as we stretch our minds and deepen our faith through
relaxed discussion of God’s Word.
    God’s Heart for the Muslims
                      By Keith E. Swartley

and attach them again to hope;
hope for Muslims to be changed by
the unmistakable work of Christ in
their lives. And hope for us as well: hope which releases us to
be alive with uncontainable joy for today, for the future, for
expending ourselves in counter-cultural defiance of Satan’s
agenda for destruction; and joy as we erect communities which
declare that all the wealth and power of heaven is available
today—not someday but today, through submission to Christ
rather than Islam.

Week 9: Lesson 8 – How Will You Connect With Muslims?

marriage mentor? A marriage
mentor is a relatively happy,
more experienced couple
purposefully investing in
another couple to effectively
navigate a journey that they have already begun. A marriage
mentor couple:
 willingly shares what they know (in a noncompetitive way)
 represents skill, knowledge, virtue, and accomplishment
because they have gone before the couple they are
   mentoring
 takes a personal and heartfelt interest in the other couple's
   development and well-being
 offers support, challenge, patience, and enthusiasm while
guiding other couples to new levels of competence
 points the way and represents tangible evidence of what
   another couple can become
 exposes the recipients of their mentoring to new ideas,
   perspectives, and standards
 has more expertise in terms of knowledge yet views
themselves as equal to those they mentor

To be a part of this class, you must pick up, fill out, and
turn in an application to the church office. Applications
are available in the front and back foyers of the church
or from the office. Bro. Greg will review the applications
and will call you to set up a time for an interview before
the class begins.
