QUICK NOTES/DECISION FROM THE COMMUNITIES WEBINAR:
We will set-up a Google group for those who want to participate in a discussion with other
communities. You will receive soon.
For those communities that would like to combine the Global Day video and the International
Siyyum video – we will work with our producers and editors to see what is possible.
Rabbi Steinsaltz pre-recorded class for communities will be approximately 30 minutes.
The live International Siyyum will take place at 2:00 PM EST via the Internet.

Notes: if your question was pertaining to your community, we will be reaching-out to you in a
separate email. These questions are in order of when they were received during the webinar.
Q: What is the difference between the www.1people1day.org and www.theglobalday.com?
The www.1people1day.org website is the resource for communities and partners whereas
www.theglobalday.com is oriented for individuals to find events in their community, answer the
Big Questions, receive more information and volunteer to get involved.
Q: Please provide the finalized information regarding technology needed for the Siyyum as
well as the time of the Siyyum.
The International Siyyum will take place at 2:00 PM EST via the Internet. We will be in touch
shortly about the exact details of what type of projector you will need in order to project the
image onto a large screen.
Q: How long will the siyyum be?
The International Siyyum will be approximately 15 – 20 minutes.
Q: How far in advance will we receive the video of Rabbi Steinsaltz’s class?
The Global Day video and the class given by Rabbi Steinsaltz should be available in mid-
October and the International Siyyum video will be complete in October as well. Exact dates are
yet to be determined.
Q: Is there a plan to have a recording of the broadcast available after?
We believe that we will be able to post the International Siyyum online after its broadcast. We
will follow-up with the producer on this question.
Q: When will the material be available from RAVSAK and The PJ Library?
The PJ Library book based curricula in draft format is available on the login section of
www.1people1day.org. The other curricula will be available in the coming weeks – we hope by
the end of July. We will email you as soon as it becomes available online.
Q: What will the cost to the community be to have one of the Israeli Professors?
You will need to discuss this directly with AICE. The Israeli professors bios and contact
information can be found in the Resources section of the Toolbox.
Q: Is there any way to combine the opening video with the pre-prepared siyyum video?
We will work with our producers on this.
Q: Is there a place where all the different communities can share their plans for the day?
We will be creating a Google group for anyone who would like ask questions as well as share
information with other communities. You will receive a Google group invitation in the coming
Q: If you distribute DVDs of the siyyum remarks and for the class, do communities have to
pay for those?
We hope to do everything online and will let you know if there will be a cost associated with
receiving a DVD. This is not yet known.
Q: The class from Rabbi Steinsaltz will be prerecorded?
Yes, the class will be recorded in advance of the Global Day for communities to be able to
Q: Will there be a curriculum for the 2:00 p.m. EST broadcast?
Interesting question – at the present time no but we will speak to our curriculum developers to
see if we can put something together that might be appropriate.
Q: When will French curriculum be ready?
We are currently working on finishing the English curriculum and as soon as that is complete we
will begin the French, Russian and Spanish translations. We hope that it will be complete by the
end of August.
Q: The siyyum consists of remarks, kaddish, and bracha only - please clarify.
The actual program for the Siyyum is currently in the works but it will be around 15 minutes and
will consist of remarks by Rabbi Steinsaltz and other special guests and continue with the
traditional ceremony for the completion of a volume of Talmud which includes the special
Kaddish and blessing. There will be one or two more components that are still in the works.
Q: Can we enter additional events after August 2nd?
Yes but we encourage you to put in some information by August 2nd such as the contact person
and how to register for your local Global Day event.
Q: I see there is an adult curriculum and PJ materials for young ones -- what about our
religious school, which needs K-10 age-appropriate curricula?
We are currently working on religious school curriculum. Completion date is forthcoming. We’ll
be in touch with more information soon.
Q: Do you already have a news release ready?
Yes, under the PR Toolkit at www.1people1day.org.
Q: Your marketing materials are awesome and we want to use them. Can pictures be
