Amir heads for S. Arabia: His Highness the Amir

‘Electronic money transfer up: Payments made through
the electronic portal of Kuwait totaled KD 5,087,000 in the
first half of this year and there are plans to further develop

tronic portal totaled 1,483,079 this year; while the number
of government services accessed through the website

ment the second phase of the e-government program to
include the websites of different governmental authorities.
He also cited international reports stating that the e-gov-
ernment portal users worldwide increased by 20 percent;
while the United Nations reported that the electronic trans-

ranked 48th amongst other countries.

‘Ministry to help Kuwaiti students’: Head of
Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Bahrain Dr Duaij Al-Mutairi has
stressed the need to hold those behind the non-accreditation
of academic certificates from Bahraini universities, reports
Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Lauding the efforts exerted by Ministry of Higher
Education Undersecretary Dr Khalid Al-Saad to help the
Kuwaiti students affected by the non-accreditation of cer-
tificates, Al-Mutairi said the undersecretary has opened his
door to these students and listened to their grievances.
He disclosed there are 212 Kuwaitis studying medicine
in the Arabian Gulf University and 186 in other fields of
specialization, in addition to 26 in GUST and 510 in differ-
ent private universities.

‘Ministry preparing 2nd list’: The Ministry of
Commerce and Industry is currently preparing the second
list of companies which did not submit their financial state-
ments from 2008 to 2010, as well as those that have not
renewed their licenses, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting
Sources revealed the list may include 170 to 175 compa-
nies, including those removed from the Kuwait Stock
Exchange (KSE) due to failure to submit their financial
statement for 2010, and the number might decrease upon
completion of the assessment procedures.
Sources said the ministry will issue a decision on the can-
cellation of the licenses of companies on the second list imme-
diately after taking a similar step for those on the first list.
