									Online Ias Exam
INTRODUCTION

The Proposed Project is named as “WEB BASED CIVIL SERVICES PRILIMINARY
EXAMINATION” where the exams are conducted through web.
Computerizing and making online do the same task in better and efficient manner.
Today the exams that are conducted manually are quite tedious for commissions that are
Conducting as well as students.

Hence, this is a step ahead to show that online exams are much easier to conduct, reduces
the paper work and evaluation will be faster.

Hence we are considering all the aspects of exams as online. In the examination the
students have to answer two papers for the total marks of 450 in which both the papers are of
objective types.
One thing to be noted is, this exam is also called as screening exams, in which the students
are selected into mains by counting the maximum marks scored by them. But, the marks are not
included to the main exams.
Paper 1 carries 150 marks i.e., General studies which includes vaster area of general
science, current events of National and International importance, History of India and Indian
National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Economy and general mental
ability. Paper11 carries 300 marks (one subject must be selected from the list of options). There are
about 22 optional subjects, which are included in prelims.
The project deals with registering the student’s Name, Reg. No., Date of birth, etc and then
submission.
Time duration is the same i.e., 2 hours as given when conducted manually. Timer will be set
and at the end the mouse will be inactivated and students have to quit.
The development staff work with customers and system end users to find out about the
application domain, what services the system should provide, the required performance of the
system, hardware constrains, and so on.
The acceptability of the system after it has been delivered depends on how well it meets the
customer’s needs and supports the work to be automated. If the analyst does not discover the
customer’s real requirements, the delivered system is unlikely to meet their expectation.
To carry out requirement analysis, analyst must develop an understanding of the problem
domain. The actual process used is often domain dependent.
The main aim for the development of software is to conduct civil service examinations just
similar to mock exams for practice so that they can get the feedback of their preparation for exams.
Existing System:

From the through study it is found that, the existing method of conducting civil
services preliminary examinations are very tedious to both the commissions that are conducting and
the students those who are appearing for. Here all the aspects of exams are conducted manually. It
is time consuming, Evaluation will be later and results are expected later.

Proposed System:

To overcome these problems here is a package of computerizing the whole aspect.
Computerizing and making online does the same task in a better and efficient manner. These exams
are also called as Screening exams in which the candidates are selected to the main exams by
considering the maximum marks secured by them. These marks is not counted for the main exams.
In this preliminary exams the questions will be of objective types.
Hence this is a step ahead to show that online exams are easier to conduct, Reduces the
paper work and evaluation will be easier and faster.
