PURPOSE

The purpose of the Disabled Student Services Executive Committee shall be to provide advice on the
organization and operations of the College's disabled student services program including the review of all
rules, policies, and procedures which affect disabled students.

Membership

The membership of the Disabled Student Services Executive Committee shall include the following:

       Downtown campus president
       North campus president
       Associate vice president of student affairs
       Director of disabled student services
       Assistant dean of learning resources
       Director of foundation
       Director of Facilities Planning and Construction
       Director of budget and payroll
       Faculty member, Kent or South Campus
       Students (2)

The College personnel are members of the committee by virtue of their position.

Student members are selected by the director of disabled student services in consultation with staff on all
campuses.

Officer/Leader

The North Campus president shall chair the committee. The director of disabled student services shall act
as staff to the committee.

Official File of Record

The approved summary of action of the Disabled Student Services Executive Committee meetings shall
be maintained by the director of disabled student services.

Reporting Relationship

The Disabled Student Services Executive Committee reports to the College President via the executive
vice president (College ADA coordinator).

Operating Procedures

The Disabled Student Services Executive Committee shall normally meet every other month, beginning in
September, or as otherwise directed by the chair. Meetings may be held more frequently as needed.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Disabled Student Services Executive Committee shall be the following.

To develop and recommend policies and procedures on the organization, funding and operation of the
College's disabled students in order to meet the mission and goals of both the College and the Disabled
Student Services Program.

To serve as a communication link between the Disabled Student Services Program and other programs of
the College and community.

To generate College and community support for the Disabled Student Services Program.

To complete other tasks as deemed appropriate for the support of the Disabled Student Services Program.
