					SECC SECURES WILL WHITEHORN AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR




Glasgow, 5 November 2010: The Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) has today
announced the appointment of Will Whitehorn as non-Executive Director. Whitehorn, who
has 25 years experience with the development of the Virgin brand globally, joins the SECC
board of directors.

“The SECC is entering an exciting stage in its business life,” comments Whitehorn. “Its
investment and growth plans, including the world class Scottish National Arena, have
positioned it strategically to capitalise on a significant period for both Glasgow and
Scotland’s event market. We’ve a great opportunity now to position the business as a centre
of event excellence and a world class and globally recognised leisure and business brand.”

Whitehorn joined the Virgin Group as Group Public and Investor Relations Manager before
turning his skills to the businesses joint venture strategy, and subsequently on its expansion
into new areas such as financial services, telecoms and media. In 1997 he became a Director
of Virgin Rail Group and in 2000 he was appointed Brand Development and Corporate Affairs
Director for Virgin Group. During this period he had involvement in a variety of projects
including the early development of the V Festival.

In 2004 Whitehorn became President of Virgin Galactic and in 2007 he took on that role in
an executive capacity and became a special advisor to Sir Richard Branson. He is also a
member of the First Minister of Scotland’s “GlobalScot” business mentoring network and
Non-Executive Chairman of Next Fifteen Communication plc and Loewy Group Ltd. Will also
sits on the UK Government advisory board, Science and Technology Facilities Council.
