                                      MINUTES
Meeting opened 10.08 am

Present:
Ian Harkness (Swimming NSW), Margaret Harding (Alstonville), Fay Brown (Yamba), Rita
Wilkinson, Ken Malcolm (Trinity), Narelle Anderton (Mullumbimby), Carol Scott, Britt Charlton,
Peter Charlton, Lin Johnson (Ballina Indoor), Leon Ludwig, Elva Jones (Kyogle), Megan
Parmenter, Debbie Gregg (Murwillumbah), Phil Henshaw (Kingslciff), Jenny Mitchell, Helen
Green (Twin Towns), Jenny Pilgrim, William Pretorus, Kacey Pilgrim (Ballina Emmanuel), Lyn
Simpson (Byron Bay), Graham Canning, Chris Mills (Lismore Swim Team), Clinton Parker
(Casino).

Welcome:
Chris Mills welcomed Ian Harkness from NSW Swimming.

Minutes of previous Meeting:
Lyn Simpson read the minutes of the previous meeting.
Moved Lyn Simpson, seconded Chris Mills that the minutes of previous AGM be accepted as read.
Carried.

Business Arising:
Nil.

Executive Director’s Report:
Attached.

Treasurer’s Report:
Debbie Gregg presented the Treasurer’s Report. Opening balance $8064.64 and closing balance of
$10651.90. Seconded by Ken Malcolm that Treasurer’s Report be accepted.

State Councillor’s Report:
Attached.

ALEC Convenor’s Report:
Good to see more people have received qualifications this year. We desperately need more
Referees as we currently have only Margaret and Bernie Thompson in our district.
With Margaret moving out of district there will only be one Referee.

Web-Site Co-Coordinator’s Report:
Membership was down by 200 from previous years. There were 111 records, 29 Championship
Records and 82 overall records. 73% overall records were girls and 62% Championship records
were girls.

Election of Office Bearers:
Chris Mills declared all positions vacant, he vacated the chair and Ian Harkness conducted the
election of the new committee.

Originally Debbie Gregg was elected as Treasurer and Helen Green as Minutes Secretary. After
elections they wished to sway positions. Jenny Mitchell MOVED A MOTION THAT THEIR
POSITIONS BE REVERSED. SECONDED CHRIS MILLS. CARRIED.

IAN HARKNESS MOVED A MOTION THAT ALL BALLOT PAPERS BE DESTROYED.
SECONDED LYN SIMPSON. CARRIED.

General Business:

Chris Mills recommended that Life Membership be awarded to Margaret Harding for her years of
invaluable service. Seconded Phil Henshaw. Unanimously voted and Margaret was awarded a Life
Membership.

Alstonville Club to advise Swimming NSW that Margaret is a Life Member.

Submissions put forward at AGM to be discussed at General Meeting.

General Meeting to follow AGM.
