Position: Executive Director of the Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Association The Executive Director of the Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Association is the chief paid position within the Association. The Executive Director is considered the “spokesperson” for the industry and is responsible for all direct contacts with the media, tourism, university and governmental entities. Primary Responsibilities of the Executive Director will be to seek, write, and apply for grants to increase Association funding and thereby in conjunction with the Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Association Executive Board and its committees, support the accomplishments of objectives set forth by the Association’s current Strategic Plan, and to do so in a fiscal, and otherwise sustainable manner. - Report to the Executive Board of the Nebraska Winery & Grape Growers Association - Provide administrative support to Board and Committee meetings - Create an annual plan and budget for the Association and provide regular updates and reports to the members - Supervise projects conducted in the name of the Nebraska Winery & Grape Growers Association; including but not limited to: brochures, booklets, & publications, volunteer activities, promotional events, association and trade meetings, internal educational programs, media contacts, legislative informational programs and training programs consumer response mechanisms and other projects approved by the Executive Board. - Provide leadership in meeting the seven goal areas of the Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Association Strategic Plan: Membership Services, Marketing, Government Relations, Partnerships, Research, Industry Sustainability and Conference Development. Qualifications Required: o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Preferred: o Master’s degree o Minimum of 3 years experience in the industry, marketing or tourism promotional role o Successful grant writing experience o Knowledge of state & federal liquor laws o Ability to establish effective working relationship with individuals, communities & organizations o Ability to communicate effectively with others o Ability to maintain favorable public relations o Willingness to travel extensively within state (using own car) and travel to regional/national meetings and conferences o Ability to distribute information about Nebraska wines and wineries to a number of different audiences in a variety of means (events, printed information, oral presentations, visual displays, telephone, one-one-one communication) as directed by the Association’s overall plan and budget Application To be considered for hire, each applicant must submit a Complete Application to the EB.
