                                                  SENIOR EXECUTIVE SERVICE

LOCATION: Central Office – Office of the Commissioner

SALARY: Commensurate with experience

DEFINITION: This position reports directly to the Commissioner of the Department of Human Services and will be responsible for
the direction of departmental level research, evaluation, planning and development initiatives relating to Departmental programs,
administrative practices, fiscal affairs, policies and procedures. Scope of work includes the planning of projects design, assignment
of tasks and staff in accordance with expertise and project need.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree in management, business
administration, public administration, or other areas related to the position is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of supervisory/managerial experience and a variety of management experiences and organizational
responsibilities.

NOTE: Successful candidate will have demonstrated ability in communication, leadership, and managerial skills. Core job
competencies include interpersonal skills, decision making, problem analysis, creative thinking, administrative judgment, delegation,
managerial/financial control, interdepartmental cooperation/liaison, development of subordinates and organizational awareness.

NOTE: Success completion of the Certified Public Managers (CPM) Program will be a factor in selection. Participation in any
portion of the CPM program or related programs would be helpful
