HAIR & MAKE-UP INTERNSHIP WHO CAN APPLY? Applicants must have past experience with Hair & Make-up on a professional or semi- professional theatre level, or be currently enrolled in a styling academy. Also eligible are students enrolled at a college or university studying Costume or Hair & Make-Up Design. WHAT CAN AN INTERN EXPECT? This is an introductory level position to help you gain practical work experience. Interns assist the Hair & Make-Up Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the Hair & Make-Up Department, but do not apply make-up on performers. Interns carefully follow instructions and pay attention to details. Interns observe operations, learn application of hair and make-up by observing professionals at work. Interns are able to attend a dress rehearsal of the opera on which they are working. Time commitment is negotiable with the Production Supervisor or the Hair & Make-Up Supervisor. Internships are available throughout the year.
