The Education and Student team supports and maintains a network of approximately 100
Amnesty groups in universities and colleges, and 500 groups in schools. Through regular
campaign meetings, training and courses, they keep students active and motivated.

AIUK’s national Student Conference is an annual 3-day event for 250 of our most important
activists from universities across the UK. This year’s conference will take place on Friday 16
– Sunday 18 November 2012. We’re looking for someone who can help plan and deliver
this fun and unique event, with a particular focus on production and logistics.


      Assist in the general administration surrounding the Student Conference, primarily
       the online booking system
      Provide practical support during the weekend of the student conference (involves
       working unsociable hours)
      Provide onsite production support at external venues
      Assist in any relevant research as required
      Assist with booking caterers, entertainment, furniture etc, and liaising with suppliers
      Assist in producing and collating delegate packs
      Assist in proof reading conference material prior to printing
      Assist in booking travel and accommodation for conference staff and speakers
      Assist in ensuring full conference attendance through ring-rounds and emails
      Assist in compiling and collating feedback from delegates attending the conference
      Assist with stage management and artist liaison

    Excellent administrative skills
    Experience in event production (stage management, lighting, staging, catering etc)
    Aware of health and safety practices
    To be able to work unsupervised and use own initiative
    To be able to work well as part of a team
    Excellent IT skills ( primarily MS Word, Excel)
    Excellent communication skills
    A high standard of written English
    A good telephone manner
    Flexibility and ability to move between tasks
