MAIN PURPOSE OF THE DEPARTMENT AND JOB


The DairyCo Marketing and Communications Team
The remit of the DairyCo Marketing & Communications team is to support and promote the
products and services on offer to dairy farmers. The team’s goal is to ensure that awareness
and uptake of DairyCo’s products and services is high among all stakeholders. In addition, our
goal is that consumers and other stakeholders (Government, NGO’s) have an accurate and
positive view of modern day dairy farming. The team is responsible for the planning, co-
ordination and implementation of the Business and Marketing Plan. This is done either directly
or through external marketing communication agencies.



The Role
The main areas of focus for the new Digital and CRM Manager are to increase usage of
DairyCo’s digital properties (stakeholder and consumer-facing sites) and managing the
maintenance and development of the CRM system.

      Reports direct to DairyCo Head of Marketing & Communications
      Management of Web & CRM Officer


Budgetary responsibility:


      Working with internal stakeholders and 3rd party agencies to ensure that all digital and
        CRM projects undertaken are done so within agreed budgets




WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/MAIN CONTACTS/CONTEXT


This role will report into the Head of Marketing & Communications and will include:


       Working with the wider DairyCo team and liaising with line managers regarding
        development of digital delivery channels to support wider marketing activities
       Management of Web & CRM Officer
       Liaison with and management of external agencies, primarily the Digital Agency and
        CRM Agency
       Liaising with AHDB colleagues to explore cross-sector digital and CRM opportunities
       Levy Payers – within the context of understanding their requirements from a digital
        channel through focus groups, user testing etc.
       Working closely with the Marketing & Events Manager during planning and
        implementation to ensure DairyCo has a strong digital presence




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


    To manage and be the principle contact for specific marketing activities / campaigns,
       including responsibility for relevant branding, ensuring that defined objectives and targets
       are met
    To support the delivery of the Divisional business/marketing plan particularly in relation to
       Digital & CRM
    To support the development of and deliver operational plans and tactical strategies to
       fulfill corporate goals ensuring audience needs are understood and appropriately met
    To evaluate marketing activities to ensure best use of levy, making recommendations for
       improvement as appropriate
    To     procure,   with   support   from   AHDB       Procurement,   and   manage     external
       suppliers/agencies, ensuring focus, commitment and achievement of agreed targets
    To maintain an understanding of target audiences utilising appropriate insights, creating
       and delivering appropriate tools, information and services to meet these needs
    To manage ad hoc marketing projects, ensuring agreed targets are met
    To identify and maximise new marketing / communication innovations for supporting the

  demand for relevant levy products
 To manage project / campaign budgets, ensuring value for levy funds
 To develop and maintain effective relationships with levy payers and external
  stakeholders, ensuring a two-way dialogue
 To establish and maintain contact with the industry through participation in meetings /
  events as required
 To contribute to actions that foster a collaborative culture within the team and AHDB
 To maximise cross-sector working opportunities including participation in formal and
  informal knowledge exchange with AHDB colleagues, ensuring alignment with business
  plan
 Manage the education and training of other staff on the use of software, corporate
  standards and guidelines, and deliver best practice for the production and publication of
  content to digital channels
 Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders, advising on digital products
 The postholder will also be expected to carry out any other responsibilities commensurate
  with the post that the Line Manager / Sector Director may require

 KNOWLEDGE / EXPERTISE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


       Knowledgeable / qualified in marketing communications sector, including evidence of
        practical experience
       May have relevant professional qualification in communications e.g. CIPR, CIM, PRCA
       Experience of planning digital marketing
       Good communication skills, both written and verbal
       Excellent project management skills
       Experience of CRM systems
       Previous experience of working with online Content Management Systems (CMS) or
        other web publishing programmes
       Previous agricultural experience desirable
       Line management experience desirable
       Knowledge of Data Protection Act desirable
