JOB TITLE: Security Captain
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
SUPERVISES: Security Officer(s)
Provides management over all security personnel to maintain security of facilities and grounds
by preventing crime and vandalism. Preserve public peace; and/or maintain traffic and parking
control and enforcement of traffic and parking regulations. Oversees administrative and
management functions necessary to insure efficient departmental operations. Maintains all
physical security items such as key control, card access systems etc.
Oversee Security personnel and training programs.
Payroll Accounting for Security individuals.
Develop policy guidelines.
Recommend disciplinary actions.
Conducts inspections and audits to assure quality of service of subordinate personnel.
Participate in event planning efforts and coordinate with clients.
Approves incident reports as required.
Conducts preliminary investigations relevant to personnel complaints.
Intervene in disturbances/incidents to maintain peace or restore order.
Effect arrests where warranted and authorized.
Review the work performance of subordinates.
Serves as informational source to public for company activities during events.
Perform all other duties/requirements as assigned.

Physical requirements include the ability to communicate verbally, to be able to move around
Position requires step climbing, walking and sometimes running; may be subject to physical
confrontations; indoor and outdoor working conditions; irregular hours; motor vehicle operation
This position may be substantially exposed to adverse conditions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Age 21 or over.
High School or equivalence preferred.
Must be able to obtain a Commission Officer’s Permit through NOPD.
Must possess a valid LA driver’s license at time of appointment and throughout employment.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony
charge will be disqualified. Conviction of any crime involving moral turpitude or crimes
against nature of children, or theft of any kind.
Able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
