The Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District presents the 2010 Humboldt Bay Symposium.
In 2007, the District’s Board of Commissioners established the Humboldt Bay Symposium as a District program
to be held every even-numbered year to provide information to the public on a variety of topics related to
Humboldt Bay including current scientific research, wetland restoration, maritime commerce developments,
marine recreational activities and other current bay-related events. If you are interested in anything
Humboldt Bay, this is the Symposium for you! Lunch is included in the registration fee.
Registration is $10.00/day for Thurs and Friday only. Pre-registration deadline is April 16th.
Space is limited so register early!
The presentations on Thursday, April 22 will cover issues such as wave energy development, physical
oceanography, the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative, shoreline revetments and marine transportation.
Thursday evening, a poster session will be held in the Bayview Room of the Wharfinger Building with
refreshments. Presentations on Friday, April 23 will focus on restoration projects, natural resource monitoring,
economic development, invasive species management and climate change. Saturday, April 24 is the
Symposium’s “Day-on-the-Bay” with a number of tours available.
