							                   FFRW Gives You the Edge on Congressional Races

 For a U.S. president to be really successful, a good working relationship with Congress is
imperative. Our goal in Florida is to put a chink in the Democrat’s armor. Fellow Republicans,
we must win as many of these Congressional races as humanly possible!

Your Board has zeroed in on two races to go all out on. They are: Congressional 8 (includes
parts of Lake, Marion, Orange, and Osceola Counties) and Congressional 22 (which includes
parts of Broward and Palm Beach Counties). After the Primary, let us know if you need help in
your race – we will get help to you. We can get volunteers to carpool in and do the phone calls
and walks. Yes, we can!

Congressional 8: (Orlando area)

We want Congressman Alan Grayson- of “K Street whore” fame to retire. (Republicans want
him to die quickly in regard to politics and women from any party cannot abide him).

Wendy West, President of the West Orange Republican Women Federated, has agreed to be
my eyes and ears on the ground. Don’t you just love Federated women? Wendy’s club will be
one year old in mid-February, they have 82 members and are growing and she is willing to add
another task to her repertoire. It’s so helpful to have people step up to the plate and say “yes”
when asked.

There are a number of many fine Republican candidates who are running in the August Primary.
We encourage the women of Congressional 8 to decide on their favorite and work like mad.
Then when the Primary is over, whether your favorite is the winner or loser, we have only one
horse in the race and we need a Republican in this seat. Remember, the time between the
Primary and Election Day is short. We need to put our heart and soul into winning this seat.
Primary candidates, include a sitting State Representative, an attorney, author and radio talk
show host, an anesthesiologist, a retired airline and Navy pilot, real estate developer, home
builders, and a local tea party organizer.

The good news is that with the many amazing statements of Congressman Grayson, this seat
has changed from likely Democrat to toss-up.
Congressional 22 (Ft Lauderdale area)

Ron Klein is the Democrat incumbent. Just to give you a clue, Congressman Klein wrote a
handbook for his constituents on how to access Recovery Act Funds so that local cities and
organizations can get their fair share…And whose money is that, Congressman Klein, our
children and grandchildren will be paying for it.

Here there are two Republicans running in the Primary, David Brady and Lt. Col. Allen West. So
far there is no information on Mr. Brady and his website is under construction. Lt. Col. West
was a speaker at out State Federation meeting this summer and has asked for help from the
Federation. We help all viable candidates who request it. Sue Snowden, Membership Chair for
the Contemporary Federated Republican Women’s Club in Boca Raton is the Volunteer
Coordinator/South Palm Beach County for the West Campaign, and our eyes and ears in the
field. Again, we are an amazing group of activists, willing to add another job when asked.

We think there is a significant advantage for Col. West in the race, and especially the General
Election as opposed to his new challenger. Col. West ran in 2008 and lost by a very slight margin
in the heavily Democrat district that includes Broward County. So committed to winning this
Congressional seat is he that he virtually continued his 2008 campaign through this day: raising
new money, garnering fresh support and gaining more than enough momentum to unseat the
Democrat incumbent if we keep on the pressure and the positive momentum for this
Republican American patriot.

I particularly liked this quote from an interview he did with the Weekly Standard.

       “There are three words I hate to hear used. I hate big tent. I hate inclusiveness. And I
       hate outreach. I think you stand on the principles that make you great, which transcend
       everyone in America, and people will come to it.”

If you are looking for someone who says what he means and means what he says, this could be
your guy. Out spoken and unafraid Allen West has supported and spoken out against all
terrorist activity however unpopular and politically incorrect, and was a first to speak publicly
on national TV about the Fort Hood massacre as a terrorist activity.

In 2008, with the Obama landslide, Lt. Col. West still garnered 45 percent of the vote.

Challenge:

I challenge my activist friends in Congressional Races 1 through 7 to let me know what they are
doing to get Republican candidates elected/re-elected. I’ll share these with you next month
