TERRY McCARTHY B.A.(Hons); LL.B Terry McCarthy is an associate with MDR Associates Conflict Resolution Inc.(“MDR”), a Canadian company that specializes in all aspects of dispute resolution practice, consulting and training in conflict management and conflict resolution. Mr. McCarthy is a skilled mediator, dispute resolution consultant, trainer, educator and program administrator. Mr. McCarthy is a lawyer who was in private practice in Ottawa for fifteen years. From 1994 to 2005 he was with the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Faculty member and the Head of Program Development at the Bar Admission Course. Mr. McCarthy has extensive experience in adult education. During his term with the Law Society of Upper Canada, he designed and taught courses in Negotiation and Mediation, Professional Responsibility and Practice Management, Advocacy, Interviewing, Wills and Estate Planning and Administration. Mr. McCarthy’s experience extends to the Continuing Legal Education area. He is a past chair and a current member of the Ottawa Joint CLE Committee, which is a consortium that provides high quality CLE programs to Ottawa lawyers. In addition to Mr. McCarthy’s ADR practice, he is an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa law school where he teaches a course in Interviewing, Counseling and Negotiation to upper year law students. Mr. McCarthy is currently the co-chair with Justice Colin McKinnon of the CLE program “This Hour has 20 Judges”.
