The following Novelty Events are to be included in this year’s Championships, in three age groups in Zone
teams of three (3).

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL NOVELTIES including PONY CLUB MOUNT
One horse, one rider rule will apply for Novelties. Horse and rider combination to have attended three
rallies of a Pony Club, TWO of which must have been at the Club which they will be representing, since
15th August 2011. Rider’s age as at – 1st January 2012
Each Club within a Zone may enter riders in each age group for the Zone Finals. The Horse/Rider
combination to qualify in each age group as above.
Zones may enter a maximum of THREE teams per age group, per event, excluding the Pony Club
Mount, where only ONE Zone Team per age group will be accepted.
The Zone Team in each section for the Championships will consist of the three best individual scores on the
day of the Zone Finals or the riders with the highest scores who are able to attend the Championships.

NOVELTY ENTRIES
The Team Nomination Forms (please photocopy where necessary) are completed by the Zone Organiser
after the Zone Run-Off and forwarded to arrive at the PCAWA no later than 5.00pm
WEDNESDAY 15th AUGUST 2012, together with:
Entry fees of: $10.10 per rider per event
Ground Fees: $20.00 for the weekend or $10.00 for 1 Day
Camping Fees $10.00 for the weekend
The signed PCAWA Championship Declaration Form.
Cheque for above fees (made payable to PCAWA).
Completed Championship Attendance Record Form.
NOVELTY CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING
The Champions will be the ZONE TEAM in each age group in the BUSHMAN’S BARREL, SACK
BARREL RACE, BALL & CONE and SPORTING FIGURE OF EIGHT RACE gaining the LOWEST total
time (the fastest two times per team to count).
PONY CLUB MOUNT - the Champions will be the ZONE TEAM in each age group gaining the
HIGHEST total score (ALL 3 team members’ scores to count).
TROPHIES FOR HIGH POINT ZONE TEAMS
Virbac Aust. Pty Ltd, has kindly donated three trophies to the PCAWA, and they have been allocated to the
Novelties at the Championships, excluding the Pony Club Mount.
A trophy will be awarded to the High Point Zone Team in each of the three age groups for the five Novelty
events. If a Zone has more than one team entered in an age group, each team will be counted separately;
scores from Zone teams in the same age group will not be added together.
DRESS – NOVELTIES
For the BUSHMAN’S BARREL, SACK BARREL RACE, BALL & CONE and SPORTING
FIGURE OF EIGHT RACE - competitors may ride in their Formal Club Uniforms if there are
insufficient Zone Uniforms for all team members
DRESS – PONY CLUB MOUNT
Pony Club Mount – competitors must ride in their formal Zone Uniforms.
SADDLERY – NOVELTIES & PONY CLUB MOUNT
As per 2011 PCAWA Gear Checking Manual and any subsequent amendments.
In particular please note:
No whips or spurs allowed.
A Snaffle Bridle, with an ordinary snaffle bit. A French Snaffle is acceptable.

Running Martingales or Irish Martingales may be used. If a Standing Martingale is used, it may
only be attached to the Cavesson portion of the noseband, if used in Pony Club Mount points may
be deducted.
GENERAL INFORMATION
OUTSTANDING MONIES
As per PCAWA Council Resolution made in 1995, clubs or individuals with accounts two months or more
overdue, will not be permitted to enter PCAWA events, including State Championships and Teams. Sub-
committees will receive a list of debtors when they are compiling entries for their championships and entries are
not to be accepted from any rider or club on the list. With the forthcoming PCAWA 2012 Milne Feeds "Go for
2&5" State Dressage Championships, don't let your Club be affected. If you have any doubt regarding the status
of your individual or Club account please do not hesitate to contact the PCAWA Office. Please note that
information regarding Club Accounts will only be provided to Club Office Bearers.
HORSE ACCOMMODATION / GROUND FEES
Please complete the attached “Yard Request Form” if you require a yard reserved – yards will be
allocated by the PCAWA, firstly by giving travelling the furthest Clubs preference, and then on
a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Horses/ponies that are not allocated a yard will still need to pay
the full Ground Fee.
The compulsory Ground Fee (cost of yards inclusive) of $10.00 per day per horse/pony has not
been included in the team entry fee and must be paid as an extra with your entry.
Please make sure you leave your yards and the grounds clean and tidy.
Please complete the enclosed PPGames/Novelty Attendance Record Form so that we can keep track
of who has paid ground fees for either the Novelty Events and/or the Prince Philip Games.
CAMPING
Camping is allowed at the Ground. Cost: $10.00 per vehicle for the weekend. Please complete and return
the enclosed Camping form accompanied by the appropriate fees. Please leave your camping areas clean and
tidy. There will be signs posted designating the Camping Area.
CANTEEN
Will be open for Lunch on both days and Meal orders for Friday & Saturday Dinners and Saturday and
Sunday Breakfast are enclosed.
MEAL ORDERS
Order forms are enclosed.
TEAM MANAGERS
One Team Manager to be nominated for all age groups in each Novelty Event (i.e. one Zone Team
Manager for all teams in all age groups in Ball & Cone etc – not a separate Manager for each team) and
MUST be nominated on the Team Manager/Helper Nomination Form.
Pony Club Mount to have a Zone Manager for each age group and MUST be nominated on the Team
Manager/Helper Nomination Form.
HELPERS
Two Ground Helpers from each Zone MUST be provided for each Novelty Event and MUST be nominated
on the Team Manager/Helper Nomination Form.
One Helper and Two line Stewards must be provided for each PPMG Team.

The Helper MAY NOT be the same person as the Team Manager of ANY Team.
If a Helper is not present prior to the event, that Team will not be permitted to compete.
ABUSIVE LANGUAGE
The use of bad and/or abusive language by a Competitor, the Team Manager, any Club Official or Parent
may entail disqualification from any Pony Club event.
SWABBING
Competitors are reminded that random swabbing is a Policy of the Association.
PRESENTATIONS FOR ZONE NOVELTY TEAMS & PRINCE PHILIP MOUNTED GAMES
Presentations will be in full uniform, whether novelty presentations are mounted or un-mounted will be
announced on the day. PPMG which will take place in the same presentation ceremony will mounted.
Attendance at presentations is compulsory. Riders shall be in Club or Zone uniform (Composite
Teams).
PAYMENTS
Entry payment may be made by Chq or EFT to BSB 633 000 A/C 145478657
REFUNDS
A Doctor’s Certificate or Veterinary Certificate is required to obtain a refund. Refunds will be
subject to an administration fee of $50.00 Certificates must be received by the office no later than
Friday 28th September 2012.
