their chosen field. Such experience, whether in Australia or overseas, can help broaden outlook,
hone specific skills and advance marketplace awareness as well as benefit the Australian
industry more broadly. This program provides support for industry internships, attendance at
international script workshops, or other high-level professional development activities.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY

I, the applicant, undertake that (please mark):
       I am an Australian citizen or resident, who is not an employee of a television broadcaster or a company
       owned or controlled by a broadcaster, and who is not a full-time student at a film school or similar tertiary
       film, television or interactive digital media course
       I am not aware of any person likely to financially benefit from the application being in breach of any
       obligation under any arrangement they have with Screen Australia or any of its predecessors (the AFC, FFC
       or FAL)
       I will always act ‘in good faith’ in all my dealings with Screen Australia
       I have the capacity and resources to carry out the proposal that is the subject of the application
       I have the right to carry out the proposal that is the subject of this application (including any relevant
       copyright and clearances)
       I have meaningful creative control of the project that is the subject of the application.

ELIGIBILITY SPECIFIC TO THIS PROGRAM
Applicants and projects must meet the general eligibility criteria set out above, in addition to the following:
     Only individuals may apply.
     Applicants must be a writer, producer, director, script editor, development executive or animator who has at
      least one significant key creative drama credit in their chosen field of the attachment or opportunity (see
      below), and related success must be demonstrated.
     Internship or attachment applications must include a written invitation from the host individual or organisation
      confirming the intern’s duties during the internship and expected outcomes. Where the host is an individual
      and a production company is involved, the company’s written consent is also required.
     Internships are not available for script development proposals.
     International script workshop applications must:
       - have a draft or treatment (writers only) for a narrative feature film
       - have a written invitation from the workshop
       - be available to undertake the workshop.
     Previous development funding from Screen Australia or its predecessor agencies does not make the project
      ineligible for international script workshop support. However, a project can only be funded once through this
      program.
     Funding cannot be retrospective.
     For international internships, confirmation of your eligibility for the appropriate visa will be required.
     Where the application relates to a project, Screen Australia expects the option or rights to be held by the
      applicant, or by them in conjunction with other key creatives.

          A professional development statement describing the strategic benefit to the applicant’s career and the
          potential wider benefit to the Australian industry.

        A coherent and detailed outline of the intended work plan or program, including a timeline.
          A letter from the host company or individual indicating their willingness to participate in and to support the
          application. This letter should confirm the intern’s duties during the internship and expected outcomes.
          Where the host is an individual and a production company is also involved (such as may be the case on
          a feature film in production) the company’s written consent is also required.
          For the host: a short biography or company overview (max 200 words) AND
          a full CV or company profile
          If you and your host company have agreed that Screen Australia funds will be paid to the applicant
          through the host company for insurance and liability purposes, such as work cover, please provide
          written confirmation of this agreement.
+ FOR INTERNATIONAL SCRIPT WORKSHOPS
        A one-line AND one-paragraph AND one-page synopsis.

          A full draft script or treatment.

          Where there is Indigenous community participation or content involved in the project, written confirmation
          of the willingness of both the subject(s) and the community to be involved in the project is essential.
          Projects that contain Indigenous content and are at second draft stage or beyond must attach an
          Indigenous consultant and provide evidence of consultation, ie a report, notes etc. (See page 5 of
          this form.)
          (Writers only) Script development notes from the writer providing a detailed critical analysis of the
          submitted project and a description of the film’s target audience. The notes should identify current
          problems in the script, unresolved story issues, potential difficulties which may arise in the further
          development of the project, and the project’s creative and conceptual strengths.
          (For producers and directors) A statement of long-term benefits and opportunities that might arise as a
          result of attendance at the workshop or event, and how it might advance the project.
          Information about the script workshop or event and details about the specific program to be undertaken
          by the applicant.
          Written confirmation of acceptance into the workshop or event.
          If a project is based on an underlying work and an option is secured, evidence of the option agreement
          and length of option period.
          Details of any claims against any party’s ownership or control of the copyright if relevant (see page 7)
