Company Overview

ConocoPhillips is the world's largest independent upstream energy company, based on proved
reserves and production of liquids and natural gas. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the
company had operations in almost 30 countries and approximately 16,700 employees as of May
1, 2012, with 2011 average production of 1.62 million BOE per day and proved reserves of 8.4
billion BOE as of Dec. 31, 2011.

Position Summary

The full-time positions are in either Exploration & Production (E&P), or in our Research
organization (Geosciences & Reservoir Engineering, G&RE).

Geoscientists have the potential to make huge impacts on the company's success by
contributing to the discovery of oil or gas fields and by enhancing the development of existing
fields. Remaining global reserves will be complex and challenging to exploit, and will require
creative problem-solvers who have the passion and skills to address complex business needs.
At ConocoPhillips, geoscientists have the opportunity to use leading-edge software and
techniques to synthesize diverse types of subsurface data into innovative concepts that aid in
the discovery and production of hydrocarbons. Geoscientists collaborate with team members
from diverse disciplines, including engineers, land professionals, and economists, in order to
make strategic business decisions.

The Early Career Development program for our new hire geoscientists creates an environment
that encourages employees to develop their capabilities with the expectation that they will build
long-term careers and add value to ConocoPhillips. Geoscience skill development
is accelerated during the first two years through a combination of formal training and on-the-job
roles in regional evaluation, prospect generation, field development, operations and/or applied
research. Formal training supplements your technical expertise with practical skills, while
encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and integration. Managers and mentors make individual
employee development a priority, and coach employees by providing relevant and real time
feedback. Travel and long-term international assignments may offer additional opportunities for
career and personal development.
