We sadly announce the passing of Nellie Gray, the founder and long-time organizer of the annual National March for Life in
Washington DC every January. The March is a protest of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade in January 1973. That
Supreme Court decision legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy throughout the United States. Miss Gray organized
and led the march from it's inception in 1974 through 2012. The U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops credits Nellie Gray for
"having mobilized millions of Americans to protest the injustice of Roe v. Wade and to speak out on behalf of unborn children, who
have no voice of their own." Miss Gray converted to Catholicism as an adult and became one of the most famous pro-life leaders in
the U.S. during her life. She died at her home in Washington DC.

Canada approved the world's first stem cell drug, Prochymal. The drug is made from adult stem cells, not embryonic stem cells.
Maryland's own stem cell company, Osiris Therapeutics of Columbia MD., has received Canadian approval to market the world's
first stem cell drug, which treats children suffering from extreme pain of graft-vs-host (GvHD), which currently kills up to 80% of
affected children.

His Excellency Bishop Robert Morlino of Madison, Wisconsin published a letter to clarify once again that ALL Catholics are
bound to defend and uphold the dignity of every human life, marriage between one man and one woman, and the right to religious
liberty—because these issues involve intrinsic evils that can never be justified. The Bishop also explains that on issues such as how
to best care for the poor, create jobs, or how to best reduce the deficit, people of good will can disagree. Specific policy solutions in
these areas involve prudence, where good people that share a common goal may disagree on how to best achieve those goals. This
means that those attacking Catholic Congressman Paul Ryan ( nominee for Vice President) for his proposed budget solutions are
free to disagree with him, but they are wrong when they accuse him of dissenting from the Church. The Bishop issued the letter in
response to partisan Catholic groups, some nuns, and prominent professors who have been accusing Paul Ryan of being a heretic for
many months now, because of his budget proposals to reduce the deficit. At the same time, these groups have not attacked Vice
President Joe Biden as being a heretic. Vice President Biden recently announced that he supports same sex marriage and he is part of
an Administration that is pro-abortion, anti-religious freedom, and pro same sex marriage. For the first time in the history of the na-
tion, we have two candidates running for Vice President of the United States who are both Catholics. For more information go to

There has been almost a total news blackout on the Family Research Council (FRC) shooting on August 15, when a gunman
disguised as an intern, attempted to enter the Family Research Center offices in Washington DC. with a gun and a large amount of
ammunition. The gunman shot the security guard. The gunman was supposedly carrying a Chick-Fil-A bag and was supposedly up-
set about the Family Research Centers position of supporting traditional marriage in the Chick-Fil-A fast food restaurant situation.
Don't expect to hear much about this event in the media, which could have been another mass murder event, if it hadn't been for the
quick thinking of the security guard at FRC.

Please pray for the unborn and for the nation to select politicians who support life, marriage, and religious freedom.
