                                             FB 111 SERIES - BUS ROUTES

REPORTING DATES

Where the reporting date falls on a weekend or holiday, the reporting date becomes the last day of school prior to the
weekend or holiday.

Where the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date becomes the last working day prior to the weekend or
holiday.

DESCRIPTION

The FB 111 series of bus route forms and summaries are used to compile, report and certify data used in the calculation of
Loaded Kilometre Support and Bus Grant Support.
Loaded Kilometres means the daily distance in kilometres for each school bus route operated by a school division on
September 30 of the school year:
    from the point where the first transported pupils are picked up on the way to school to the last point to which pupils are
    transported, and
    from the point where the first transported pupils are picked up after school to the point where the last transported pupils
    are dropped off.

BUS ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS:

    URBAN OR RURAL ROUTE
       A route that picks up pupils in a rural area and transports them to an urban area is considered a rural route.
    REGULAR TWO-WAY ROUTE
       A route that follows the same, or very similar, path both before and after school. Report the total and loaded
       kilometres for the A.M. portion only and multiply by two (2).
    ONE-WAY ROUTE (A.M. or P.M.)
       A route that does not follow the same path both before and after school. Report the total and loaded kilometres and
       multiply by one (1).

EXAMPLES OF ROUTES:
    1) REGULAR ROUTE
        If the bus remains loaded from the first pick-up point to the last drop-off point in the A.M. and follows the same route
        after school
    2) ONE-WAY ROUTE (A.M. or P.M.)
        If the bus remains loaded from the first pick-up to the last drop-off point but operates only once a day.
    3) REGULAR ROUTE OR ONE-WAY ROUTE
        If the bus picks up and drops off pupils on route to one or more schools but travels unloaded for a portion of the
        route, each portion is a different route, either as in example 1) or 2).

EXAMPLES OF ROUTES THAT ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR SUPPORT:
      ● Kindergarten noon routes;
      ● Field or day trip routes;
      ● Technology Education route (excluding Winnipeg Technical College partner divisions),
      ● Routes to other schools during the school day for a program not offered at the home school.

Division. To access the forms in this file, click on the tab with the corresponding form number. If you are completing the
forms electronically, please ensure that you save the file from which the hardcopy is printed.

FB 111 - Bus Route Report
Reporting Date: September 30th

The FB 111 form is used by school bus drivers for reporting data for each eligible bus route on September 30 th in order to
complete the FB 111S - Bus Route Summary file. Data collected includes odometer readings and bus route descriptions.

            The FB 111 form is for divisional use only and should not be returned to the Schools’ Finance Branch.

Complete one form for every bus route regardless of distance traveled. Report distance in kilometres.

      Enter the following information on the form:
             ● Division Name
             ● Bus Route No.
             ● Bus Unit No.

      The bus driver must complete the following and sign:
            ● Odometer start
            ● Odometer first pick up
            ● Odometer last drop off
            ● Odometer finish

      The transportation supervisor must complete the following and sign:
             ● Bus Route Description (Check Urban or Rural and Regular Two-Way, One-Way A.M./ One-Way P.M.)
             ● Total and loaded kilometre calculation (multiply by 1 for one-way and 2 for two-way)

FB 111S - Bus Route Summary

Bus route data collected on the FB 111 forms is summarized in the FB 111S – Bus Route Summary file. This data is used in
the preliminary calculation of loaded kilometre support. The total number of buses reporting ridership for approved rural
routes is also reported in the FB 111S file and used for the calculation of Bus Grant Support.

      Enter the following information for each bus route on the summary:
             ● Bus Route Number
             ● Bus Unit Number
             ● Check Kindergarten Route (if applicable)
             ● Check Urban or Rural
             ● Check One-Way or Two-Way
             ● Enter total and loaded kilometres as reported on form FB 111 - Bus Route Report.
               Rural loaded kilometres will be displayed automatically, where applicable.

      Enter total number of Buses Reporting Ridership for Approved Rural Routes in the top left corner.

      Print the completed FB 111S and submit hardcopy and electronic file to Schools' Finance Branch.

FB 111S CERT - Certification of the Bus Route Summary

The FB 111S CERT form is used to certify information reported in the FB 111S file and is up-dated automatically from the FB
111S.

      Print the certification form and verify the totals to the FB 111S.
      Provide appropriate dates and signatures.
      Submit to Schools' Finance Branch.

HOW TO SUBMIT FORMS AND FILES

                          Forms cannot be signed and/or submitted prior to the reporting date.
                           Complete the information as requested.
                           Save the completed form on your local system and print paper copies.
                           Obtain appropriate signatures.

Once the applicable forms are completed and signatures obtained, the forms and electronic files (where applicable) should
be forwarded directly to the Schools' Finance Branch.
