 el               masculine
       singular
 la               feminine



 los              masculine
       plural
 las              feminine
To = ‘a’               In = ‘en’
To say ‘to the’ in Spanish we normally just
use the words for ‘to’ and ‘the’ just like in
English!
e.g.

a la piscina    = to the swimming pool
a los bares     = to the bars
a las tiendas   = to the shops
To = ‘a’
Exception – ‘to the’ when ‘the’ refers to a
masculine singular thing ‘el ...’
