Test Timeline

							A.     The English say that the French must leave, but the Acadians may stay if they sign the Oath of
Allegiance. The Acadians refuse, but are still permitted to stay on the English controlled soil.

B.     The French land in LaHave and travel to Isle St. Croix where they had a terrible first winter, so they
quickly move to the Port Royal area once the winter is over.

C.     Build Fort Beausejour

D.      English raiders from the 13 British colonies burn the Habitation to the ground because they believed the
land it was built upon to be British soil.

E.     New Habitation was built on a new site just on the opposite side of the Annapolis river.

F.      Port Royal was captured by the English, who took down the French Flag (Fleur de Lis) and renamed the
fort Fort Anne. The Port Royal area then referred to as Annapolis Royal.

G.     The Treaty of Utrecht was signed giving all of Acadia except Isle de Royal (Cape Breton) to the
English.

H.     Sieur de Monts granted a monopoly in exchange for him starting a new colony in the new world

I.     The French build Fortress Louisbourg on Cape Breton

J.     The English founded Halifax and move their troops and their main headquarters there from Annapolis
Royal.

K.     The English offer the Acadians the Oath of Allegiance again, but they refuse. 400 Acadian men of ages
10 and above are held prisoner for four months until the expulsion finally begins.

L.     The war ends and another peace treaty is signed. The French get Louisbourg back because of this treaty.

M.     The English capture Fortress Louisbourg

N.     Build Fort Lawrence

O.      The French ask the Acadians to leave as the Acadians are located between the two newly built forts, but
they refuse. The French then burnt the Acadian's homes to the ground saying that it was for their own good.

P.    The end of the "7 Year War" means that the Acadians may return home as long as they remain neutral.
Many of the Acadians walk home to Nova Scotia from the distant 13 British colonies.

Q.     The English seize control of Forte Beausejour and with it they now control the Isthmus de Chignecto.

R.     The first Habitation was built

S.     John Cabot sails to North Eastern North America and claims the land for England
