2.02 SENTREX3 SWING DOOR SENSOR SYSTEM:
A. Safety controls shall be the Stanley Sentrex3 Swing Door Sensor System as manufactured by Stanley Access
Technologies, Division of The Stanley Works, Farmington, Connecticut, U.S.A. The system shall consist of Sentrex3
sensor heads mounted on the door stiles, a Sentrex3 logic board and a position encoder mounted to the Stanley
The Sentrex3 Swing Door Sensor System shall provide complete operate and safety zone coverage. During tune-in,
the system shall automatically adjust to meet specific job site conditions (side walls, adjacent panels, etc.). The
system shall not be affected by ultrasonic, ambient light or radio frequencies within the vicinity of the swing door. The
system shall meet all ANSI codes (A156.10 for example) for zone size and functional requirements. The system is
designed to operate in conjunction with the Magic-Swing control box, which supplies 15V D.C. to the system. Sentrex3
shall be capable of operating within temperature ranges of -30 degrees F to +130 degrees F.
The Sentrex3 sensor heads shall operate on infrared reflective energy and shall provide continuous zone coverage.
The sensor heads are designed to provide energy patterns over multi-dimensional zones allowing detection of the
people and/or objects in the door area.
NOTE: A Stanley SU-050 Motion Sensor and/or wall switch, etc. will be used as an actuating device with the Sentrex3
Sentrex3 shall at the push of a switch, automatically tune in, setting up zones, without requiring any special test
instrument. A non-volatile memory retains the zone settings even after a power interruption.
Sentrex3 shall give full threshold coverage. Sentrex3 shall not require notching of door stiles.
Sentrex3 shall be retrofittable to glass front aluminum doors and to hollow, metal clad or solid fire doors.
Sentrex3 shall cause the door to stall if an object enters the safety zone after the door starts to open.
Sentrex3 shall re-open the door if an object enters the actuate zone as the door starts to close, unless an object is in
the safety zone.
The Sentrex3 logic board shall be microprocessor based and shall be mounted inside the Magic-Swing control box.
The logic board shall interface with the controller, the position encoder, and a microprocessor in each sensor head. A
fail-safe shutdown of the doors occurs if there is a loss of communication between the Sentrex3 logic board and the
III. PART THREE EXECUTION
