ESF Eco-Reps work in Centennial Hall to raise awareness about sustainability issues, educate
students about ESF's sustainability initiatives, and share sustainable living practices on campus
through planned events and activities. Responsibilities will include planning three events or campaigns
per semester, attending a training retreat from 5 – 8pm on Sunday, September 23, 2012, and
attending regular meetings each month. It is not necessary to live in Centennial Hall to be an Eco-Rep.
What We Are Looking For:
Creative, enthusiastic undergraduates who are passionate about environmental and social
Effective communication skills (through a variety of means)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to see projects through to completion
Ability to learn information about environmental topics and relate that information to peers
What You Will Gain: Time Commitment:

Knowledge of environmental and Twice-monthly half-hour individual or
social topics team meetings
The experience of working with other 2 – 3 additional hours per week, on
passionate students average, working on campaigns & events
If you have a commitment to sustainability, and want to help others learn more about it, then this is a great
opportunity. As a volunteer, you might spend 2-3 hours per week on the Eco-Rep position by doing
programs, events, or education for others in Centennial Hall. This will vary by week and by the amount of
effort you put in. It may mean planning an event in Centennial Hall about climate change, or helping to
encourage people to participate in Recyclemania! The sky is the limit, but this volunteer position allows
you the flexibility to stay involved throughout the semester.
