change in Select requirements that give priority to LVYSL primary rostered players, etc.

GAMES COMMISSIONERS REPORTS
Small Sided Game Commissioner – Ken Laramee: Some problems with some teams running up scores
– several games with > 5 goals differential. He sent email to coaches requesting coaches prepare for
this possibility to find a way to work with team to be prepared to avoid running up scores. But
following week several games 8-0 and worse.
Large Sided Girls Games Commissioner – Mike Schroder not present. Bill Newell relayed his report:
Palisades complaint re: girls game schedules – had U15 and U19 games scheduled at same time, and
had to use free change request to avoid conflict; but then not able to get game changed in November
when will not be able to have a coach at a game(s). Bill Newill request email to investigate and discuss
with game commissioner. Another club had similar problem; had to move U10 game to U12 field, etc.
Large Sided Boys Games Commissioner – David Constant: New reschedule policy seems to be
working and getting fewer re-schedule requests. Question about late tournament signups – not one of
the three re-schedule exemptions– asked about inability to signup (late) for November tournaments
after September deadline.
Kathy G. – Reminded everyone round-robin and winter/spring entries are due October 16.
Rich M. – Some teams using illegal players, eventually most added to roster after the fact (by 2-3
weeks). This will result in (1) team forfeits game, (2) team is fined ($50 per player per incident and
$100 for forfeit), and (3) not insured by EPYSA
Diane M – no additions to above.
REFEREE ASSIGNORS REPORTS
Hal Grahn: Upcoming problem with game reschedules coming through resulting in games all over the
area at random times. May have to change game times by +/- one hour to allow one ref crew to do two
games at one site, versus send in two ref crews to same complex for single games, otherwise will not
have enough refs. Most likely will be small sided games that are moved in time, not field move. Hal
will call coaches of impacted games.
Request coaches be prepared for games – properly filled out rosters (with correct jersey #’s, etc.)
Appreciates prompt filling out of referee evaluation cards – please get referee name.
Member Question – are three yard from field lines required? Yes – many field have, some don’t.
Required – for player safety.
Wim Roset reported: Nov 19 women referee clinic at Twin Valley High School (Morgantown).
Issue that came up – a player may only play for only one team in a tournament!
EPYSA tying to purchase land for fields in Philadelphia area off Rt 1 by old state hospital, has three
fields now, room for more.
Wim asked status re: WVYSL. An appeal was brought to the LVYSL board, not follow procedures,
denied. Not appealed further.
Floods shut down Wehr’s dam so far – don’t know if will be open for games this weekend. Enco has
field with sinkhole. Etc. Hal recommend treat as rainout and reschedule vs. try to move game last
minute. Remember if lose field or have a rainout to call Hal (at least two hours in advance). Also, if
reschedule, try to avoid Sunday’s because only a 12-4 window or schedule at 11 am to avoid shortage
Adjourned 8:35 pm
