Geology students, under the guidance of a mentor geologist or specialist, will complete an
Exploration or Exploitation project in direct support of Cenovus’s current business plan. Project
work and training will help the student learn about topics such as stratigraphic interpretation, core
description, well log analysis, geological mapping, seismic interpretation, hydrocarbon volumetric
analysis, and various business aspects of the oil and gas industry. Geological field trips and
training will be part of the work experience. These positions will be based in our Calgary office and
are available for a 4 month term starting in May 2013.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of your work term
Second or third year B.Sc Geology
Available for a 4 month term, starting in May 2013
Demonstrated interest and ability to write and edit
Willingness to learn and contribute ideas to a team
Capability to work independently with limited supervision in a busy office environment
Flexible to changing work demands and priorities
Strong computer knowledge of MS Office Suite
