Sarah’s Second Job

I am Sarah Collins. I’m a single mother and clerk at a small court in a rural
county. My job with the clerk’s office does not pay well enough to support my
family and I need to make ends meet for my 12 year old daughter Heather. The
police department (in the same building with the court) needs a clerk and
dispatcher during the evenings. The extra money really helps out with Heather
and me. Besides I get to wear a nice uniform while with police insignias.

I am Bud Bodsworth and I’ve been arrested twice before for drunk driving. This
last arrest though was completely bogus because I know I only had two beers. I
had to come down to the administration building one evening to post bail and get
my car back. Here sits this cute gal in a police uniform named Sarah who takes
my money. I tell Sarah I’m going to fight this thing in court because I think I have
a good case. She just looks at me like I’m just another drunk. Oh well. But today
I come to court and here this Sarah gal delivering paper for the judge.
